About me

My name is Kimberley Walch, I am 43 years old. I became a Registered Childminder in August 2015 and began working from my own home in September 2015. I am DBS checked and fully Paediatric First Aid Trained. I live with my son Callum who is 7. Becky my assistant who currently works with me is also 43 years old, she has 2 children of her own a 7 year old and a 14 year old. She is DBS checked and Paediatric First Aid Trained.

I have over 20 years’ experience working in environments where I have cared for and supported children, adults and families. Over 7 of these years I spent working for Bradford Council Children and Families Department supporting children and families. 10 years of my working life I have worked within the care industry caring for people from birth – 109! I have worked in Children’s Residential Units, Children’s Disability Units, Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Residential Homes, EMI Units and in people’s own homes offering support and care. Before becoming registered I worked as a childminding assistant. I have also worked at Oopsie Daisies Before, After School and Holiday Club as a Business Manager and Play Worker and before that I was a Home Manager for a 23 bedded Residential Home.

My Interests

I am a mother and this alone keeps my very busy, I enjoy spending time with my family and socialising with friends. I love to go camping, music and reading.

My Personal Commitment

Looking after children has become almost second nature and through the course of my career I have gained years of experience & skills to create and maintain a secure, welcoming and stimulating "home from home" environment for children. I find it very rewarding being able to provide a service that surpasses the norm so my parents/carers are safe in the knowledge that their children are in the best possible hands. My priority always remains the well being, safety and happiness of the children in my care.

About my Setting

My home is situated in Idle, Bradford. It is very close to all local amenities including parks, community centres, library, swimming pool, shops, woods etc. There is a regular bus service and Apperley Bridge Train Station is only 1.8 miles away. I am very close to several local primary schools, Rockwell and Springfield Community Centres and Parklands Family Centre.

We live in a three bedroom semi-detached house built on two levels. The setting is wheelchair friendly. The whole of the ground floor is used for childminding. This floor comprises of a living rood, conservatory (dedicated play room), kitchen, dining room and a downstairs toilet. I also have a large enclosed back garden which is on two levels, on the top level of the garden there is a large patio area and the garden has AstroTurf grass. On the lower level its split into 3 sections, is all decked and there is a mud kitchen, planting area, construction area. Lots of ride-on toys, water trays, sandpits, slides/swing, seesaws and Wendy house. There is also patio furniture and various other toys and resources down there.

I have excellent references. The parents of the children I currently look after are more than happy to offer a verbal references also. This, I hope will give you the parent the peace of mind that I will care for your child in a safe, nurturing and happy environment where each individual child can reach their full potential.

My Availability

I am available to work Monday-Friday 7.30-6.00pm. As a childminder I have the ability to be flexible so if your requirements are outside of these hours please contact me to discuss as it may be I can still help.

My Fees

• Childminding from £5.00 per hour

£5.50 per hour
