My Summary
About Me
I have always enjoyed working with children in any setting and being a mother to my own two children who are both at school. All the nanny positions I have held have been very interesting and enjoyable. Working closely with children and their parents in their own home I see as a great privilege and one that gives me positive job satisfaction observing their learning and development.whilst having great fun times.I like to keep children interested and always encourage and praise their efforts whilst displaying a positive role model at all times. In the past i have been described as calm, unflappable and good humoured.I like to find out what interests individual children, stimulate their natural curiosity and work in partnership with their parents.Last April I attended a first aid course with the playgroup staff.I also have been PVG checked because I worked with the Scottish Playgroup Association. I am an able swimmer and hold a clean driving licence. My priority is keeping children safe and healthy making sure they get plenty of fresh air and exercise according to their age and stage of development.
My Experience
I have worked for City of Edinburgh Council for 13 years as a nursery officer in social work, City Chambers workplace nursery and Cowgate under 5's Centre.Previously I have held sole charge nanny posts and nanny share posts over 8 years working with children and babies aged 5 weeks to 5 years plus. Over the past 2 and a half years i have been working as a support relief worker and volunteer at my local playgroup.. I was involved in the setting up and clearing of play equipment, settling new children, relaying the children's time spent in playgroup back to the parents/carer. I enjoyed facilitating all the play experiences that were on offer to the children ; music, dancing, arts and crafts, puzzles, sand, stories, baking, small world and outdoor play. I also assisted on woodland walks and fundraising events.Since April 2016 I have had sole charge of 2 children aged 3 months and 2 years old. Sadly they are moving to the USA in October so I am looking for a similar post around late October early November..i have involved the children in playgroups, toddler groups, singing in Morningside library, swimming, nursery class, drawing, baking, scootering beach and park trips with friends. \My current employer would be happy to give a verbal/written reference.
