Hi I'm Sian and i am an OFSTED registered childminder I have been a childminder since 2019. I am 33 years old, married, have a 11 year old daughter and a 5 year old daughter. I also have a very friendly, but loud, springer spaniel who is 9 years old and we have had her from 11 weeks old so she is amazing with children, but obviously she barks at the door (as dogs are supposed to) and I have a 5 year old cocker spaniel who is the soppiest dog ever and great with the children. I live in the new housing estate by David Lloyd gym in Dartford.
I am a very maternal, fun, bubbly and caring person and would treat your child as my own.
I am available for early years children and i am available for school drop offs and pick ups to Oakfield Primary Academy. I have a full enhanced dbs, paediatric first aid trained and a full UK driving licence
As a parent myself I understand there is nothing more important than the development, health, happiness and safety of your child which is why I will strive to ensure I deliver a service that meets this. I provide a variety of learning opportunities, fun days out but most importantly tailor myself to meet the needs of your child. I have a summer house which during the day I use for arts and crafts with the little ones and after school use it for the school children. This is to give each age group space to move safety and the bigger ones a chance to do aqua beads, puzzles, Lego ect without the stress of the little ones grabbing!
I have a large selection of toys for all ages, which I can rotate when needed to ensure never-ending stimulation for the children. I hope I have toys all children will be interested in however if there is anything in particular that your child has a particular interest in then I will do my best to source it for them.
I also believe in getting out each day which is why I ensure we get out most days come rain or shine. We are currently enjoying fantastic days out to places like Darenth country park, jeskins park, dunorlan park, Peter rabbits woods, Danson park and many more. There are a variety of toddler groups that we attend (during TERM times) which are available 5 days a week and all at different centres/churches/towns so your child will have a variety of fun things to do. Also local libraries, soft play centres and many parks to explore. I also have a large woodland area and a river behind my house, great for watching the seasons change, walking the dog, feeding the ducks, jumping in muddy puddles and generally getting some fresh air :)
Working in partnership with parents is a very important aspect of my work. I like to make the parent/carer feel relaxed while their child is in my care ad I know it can be a very daunting time. I send daily videos and pictures showing what we are getting up to and am available at all times if there is a question or any issues or even just to check in. I also send weekly books home with a reading record.
My Experience
I have been registered with OFSTED as a childminder since May 2019
I also have 5 months experience working as a childminding assistant with my sister in law back in 2014 I gained experience working towards the EYFS, following Early Years Outcomes, tracking childrens learning and development, observing and planning activities for children, completing childrens learning journals etc
I have also worked as a nanny for 7 months in 2016 but they no longer required my services as both their children started full time school.
I am very keen to increase my knowledge and personal development and have completed and am always completing a variety of Childcare based courses
I keep myself up to date with safeguarding knowledge and general childminding aspects by attending weekly webinars through childcare.co.uk

Sian cared for my daughter who is now in reception for a year and I must say she is very fantastic with children. My daughter always looked forward to going to her as there was always fun and learning opportunities every day. Sian was very good with pick ups & drop offs from school. They would go on walks to the lake to feed the ducks. She is currently caring for my little one and has been awesome with him. She is a very caring & lovely lady, one of the best, I couldn’t recommend her more!

Sian cares for my son 4 mornings a week and does the school drop off. She is always happy, caring, bubbly, patient and fabulous with children. The children are always happy and my son really enjoys going to her house at 7am as he loves the environment she provides there. Always fun toys and seasonal celebrations and her own family are lovely too. I think it's really built his confidence and communication skills. Sian is reliable and I trust her completely. I highly recommend Sian as a childminder and providing a positive experience for children.

My daughter goes to Sian’s a couple of days a week and I couldn’t recommend her enough. Sian has helped my daughter with her development, her confidence and she is always happy to see Sian when I drop her off in the morning. I am always confident that she is safe and cared for when I am at work. Sian is very kind, caring and keeps the little ones entertained with a variety of activities. Overall, a top childminder.

I contacted Sian after receiving a new job that required immediate start. I wasn't 100% sure if my children needed minding due to waiting to hear back from preschool and if they could accommodate my change of days and hours.
In the end the preschool could accommodate my children but if they didn't I would have loved my children to be minded by Sian. You can tell from talking to her how lovely she is. I discussed my situation and potential needs with her and she was very fair, helpful, understanding and friendly.
I even contacted her over the weekend, in the evening too, and she still replied quickly.
Speaking to her eased my anxiety over leaving my children with a minder as this is something I haven't had to do before.
If I ever need help again Sian will 100% be my first point of call.

My daughter has been going to Sian's house on a regular basis for the past 3 years. She always comes back clean and happy and is always engrossed and stimulated with the large amount of toys and activities there are to do. They enjoy many trips out and my daughter is always looking forward to the next time she's going to Sian's. Thank you for being amazing Sian!!!
