My Summary
About Me
********Friday Preschool Space Immediately Available ******
Did you know Childminders are NL partner providers and offer FULLY funded preschool places for ages 3 - 5 (30 hours a week or 23.75 over 48 weeks)? Applications for this are made via the childminder, parent, and early years at the local council. (Full days only for funding).
My environment has been inspected as safe, inclusive, welcoming, educational, and fun, with daily indoor and outdoor learning opportunities. It allows children to experience learning through play and offers the early learning curriculum to preschoolers in line with Scottish Government and Care Inspectorate requirements. I have recently been graded 5's across all Quality framework themes for inspection.
The key to a childminding setting that sets us apart from other early years is our flexibility to do indoor early learning and extend this into outdoor areas daily, keeping minds busy! There is no need to think about wrapping around with another setting; we can do full days.
We are not a classroom environment and also work with small but diverse numbers, so your child will be with only three preschoolers a day but a maximum of 6 children at any one time, offering more one-to-one support for the children's development and an opportunity to learn from older peers. I have worked with most of my families for several years and had their initial children and siblings join our group. Some have been here from 6 months old to high school!
I am active in play/toddler groups that holistically allow children to build a larger group of friends. Although we plan our weeks, the setting is child-led, so our days change occasionally. We have access to lots of local parks and museums. We are lucky to have access to Muddy Boots, an outdoor experience developed by an outstanding graded childminder, offering lots of exploring and activities adapted from the curiosity approach.
(Currently studying for my BA in Childhood Studies at Aberdeen University).
I am based in the Rushes area of Airdrie, I have a 5 bedroom house with a big back garden and access to the park in the development as well as local attractions and parks all around.

I have used Tracy for a while now for after school care. We had tried after school clubs, family but it wasn't enough variety nor flexibility for us. Nothing is too much trouble for Tracy, she is very flexible in terms of my shifts, is always there on hand if I need something in an emergency and first and foremost the kids love coming. Everyday is busy, the children are taken to after school clubs even as far as Cumbernauld to do BMX'ing, Softplay, the Park and other local events or whatever they have decided will be fun to do as a group! They get a wide range of opportunities and even when it's raining and come home with loads of things that they have made or read. We love how happy our kids are and would recommend to anyone who are considering a childminder.

When we started to look for childcare we knew that it was going to be difficult as our little ones were very set in their ways and were not too happy about being out of mummy or daddies sight. We met with Tracey and immediately felt at ease. She was so welcoming and very relaxed letting the girls just feel their way around and feel at ease in the surroundings.
The girls settled in very quickly and Tracey is great with them, she doesn't take any of their nonsense and has helped them develop so much within a few short months. She has become a friend, teacher and mentor to them and they love going to her.
Communication is second to none, she updates me via email/text/phone at least a few times a day, she sends pictures of what the girls are up to and keeps me informed if they are a little under the weather and adjusts plans accordingly.
In short we have found a diamond and cannot recommend her highly enough.

From the moment I met with the family including nana, I could tell that this would be a big transition for all, we chatted about my family, my background and more importantly my dog, Both the children were unsure of animals but assured this super family that I would make both the transition work for them but also make animals a fun addition to their family life. I have to say that it's been amazing working so closely with the family and seeing the children go from shy little things to outgoing, grounded individuals full of personality and that only works when you have the full buy in and work as a team with the family. Our communication is clear and both ways and I love it. I not only feel part of their family but know they feel part of mine too!
Tracey has looked after my lo for over 4 years now, and I just don't know what I would do without her, she is like part of the family and treats my lo as part of hers. Her home is fab, lots of space, clean and super welcoming! The children have LOADS of activities with new projects going on all the time, and great use is made of parks and NL active kids to keep them all very busy, but they also have an opportunity to relax and chill if needed. My LO loves to go to Tracey's house and even when they are not their talk about how much they do. I wouldn't recommend anyone else, book her if you get a chance!

Response by Tracey Airdrie CM on 21/07/2016:
It's always a challenge to get it right for siblings and especially if they haven't experienced outside childcare. We worked hard together to establish what the children liked as individuals and we did lots of projects that dove tailed with home and school to mirror so the children felt at complete ease. I would like to think that both look at me as a fun individual flexible to their need and someone who listens to what they would really like to do to get the best out of their day after school - whether it's to chill or do amazing activities that they don't do normally - we loved the BMX clubs and our trips as well as getting involved in Beat the Street. The children are a great edition to an amazing group of children. T x
