About Us

The Local Authority funded the set up of the nursery and we have established very good relationships and received support as and when needed. We are located at the bottom of the estate with access to a local park, shops and woodland areas for the children to explore. The nursery was set up as additional provision for funded two year old places as throughout Wigan there were areas that they felt needed additional provision. Therefore our room is suitably equipped specifically for two year old children. We have recently extended to pre-school children also due to the demand within the area. We have also located into a larger room in the centre with access to free flow outdoor provision.



The nursery opened on Thursday April 24th 2014 for business. We are situated within an open plan room in the centre with accessible toilets for the children. Higher folds two years old nursery and pre-school is established within the local community centre, it is accessible for children, parents/carers with many needs as we have a ramp on entry, wide entrance doorways and disabled toilet facilities.



The nursery session times are mornings 9.00-12.00, afternoon sessions 12.30-3.30 and full days 9.30-3.30 term time only. We have access to a fabulous outdoor area.



A maximum of 20 children may attend the nursery at any one time.



The nursery employs four members of staff, the manager Karen holds a level 4 management and leadership qualification and has recently started her level 5 advanced training. The acting deputy Tracie is currently level 3 and has recently started her level 5. She has also attended level 3 Leadership and Management training. Our third in charge Sam holds a level 3 qualification in early years and has also recently started her level 5. On the 5th Oct 2015 Ebony started with us. She is doing her level 2 at the moment.
