About Me
I am a mum of two children, a son aged 18 and a daughter aged 17.
We love to spend our time at the local parks, woods and the Zoo. A favourite place of ours is visiting Hatfield House. I have lived in WGC all my life and know the area very well.
I am a calm, patient person and like to think I usually have a smile on my face and lot's of energy (even at my age!)
I am offering childminding services all year round except bank holidays.
I also offer childcare at special events.
I would be happy to answer any questions you have.

I have over 40 years experience in child care. First job was a nanny when leaving school, I’ve worked in a day nursery, deputy in an Outstanding Pre-School and as a part time key worker. I prepared planning for my group of children, learning journals, UCOs, two year old checks, arrange parent evenings etc.
I also ran a very successful dancing school for many years, teaching children from 4 years of age to adults.

Our son has been with Michelle for 2 years and has just left after turning 3 and moving on to pre-school/nursery (otherwise I would have kept him there forever! The kind and loving nature Michelle has is undeniable so when we met and saw how relaxed but professional her home was we knew straight away. Hayden has gained amazing social skills there, most importantly being there for his friends. We appreciated every update Michelle would send, and all the fun experiences he was exposed to including trips out. We’ll always cherish the time there and all felt part of the family x x

I contacted Michelle as I needed short notice childcare for my two children ages 4&1 as I had to work. Michelle responded quickly saying she would be able to help and the cost. We arranged a visit for the kids to meet Michelle in her home and immediately all of us felt comfortable and settled. After a play and chat we left happy and I understood how Michelle worked and what I could expect when my children were in her care.
Michelle offered to take them out whilst I was working. After settling them into the session I left. After a short while I had a message from Michelle to say they both were happy and they were off out. When I went to pick them up neither of them wanted to come home as they had had such a wonderful time. Michelle sent lots of photos and a short report (whatsapp) of what they had done and eaten. Michelle provided all the food.

Our son attended Michelle's setting from 9 months until recently when he was 3. She provided exceptional care, love and attention beyond what we ever expected and became a wonderful friend and educational advocate for our son during his time there, which spanned him still being little through to him going on to preschool. During Covid we were kept safe and informed, and Michelle went the extra mile providing fun and light-hearted digital content, which kept us all feeling like a group as well as entertaining our children individually on their birthdays and at points where some merriment was much needed. Michelle has acted like a second mum to my child, and I honestly could not recommended her more highly. She always goes the extra mile and considers activities and sessions which cater for all the children she looks after, as well as finding special treats on an individual basis, which can only be attributed to her really knowing her children and caring so much. Our sons development both education wise and emotionally was really well understood and cared for by her. But for a change in family circumstances, our son would still be at Michelle's, and whilst we aren't there currently, we are still in contact and much appreciate all the kind words, actions and care that Michelle shows for her children- both those who are still actively attending her setting and those who have moved up to school and beyond. Her own children are a joy and a credit to her, and demonstrate how wonderful the setting really is and how it acts as a home from home type environment, which was really important when we initially wanted childcare.

Michelle is a very caring Childminder and was very loved by our daughter. We always had regular updates throughout the day and nothing was ever too much. Our daughter never wanted to leave at pick up and had a great time with all the children. We will miss seeing her each week and our daughter will also miss seeing Michelle's children and Cookie the cat too!

Aww thanks Mel. It all went by far too fast. I have your daughter to thank for trying to teach me all the names of the paw patrol characters, everything being coloured blue and her funny cat stories. We are missing her already.

Michelle has looked after our twin boys for the last 2 and a half years, before that she worked at a local pre school looking after our daughter. The boys were always happy to go to Michelle’s, she would always be doing lots of exciting and educational activities with them to keep them both entertained and aid their development.
She would also arrange a number of trips out which the boys would always really enjoy.
We were regularly kept up to date during the day as to what the boys had been doing so we didn’t need wonder how they were getting on.
Highly recommended!

Michelle was minding my son for few years until he started at school. She is absolutely one of the best childminder. She is trustworthy, caring and always go an extra step providing extra support when needed. She pays great attention to details and communicate about any concerns and highly supportive and helpful. She is highly active and plans amazing activities eg walks in woods, trips to park etc. She has absolutely two beautiful children with the best behaviour, so caring, entertaining and they loved playing with my son. Michelle is definitely one of the best and she is the first one I would approach if I needed any childcare or advice as she is trustworthy and very helpful and involved.

Michelle is an excellent childminder who helped look after our son Patrick one day a week for over a year. As soon I met Michelle, I knew she was the right lady to care for him - caring, honest, patient and kind. Nothing was too much trouble! Patrick settled well into her setting and always talked with such joy about the activities and experiences he had there. Michelle’s children are a credit to her and really looked out for Patrick when they got home from school and in the holidays. Michelle knew Patrick adores trains and when he was feeling slightly apprehensive after not being there for a while, Michelle organised a special trip all the way to Beckonskott model railway! She really isa great childminder - always updating the ‘daily diary’, checking in and just generally being a lovely, caring and flexible person to have around. I would not hesitate to recommend her!

Michelle (shell) to our daughter, looked after violet from the age of 1 to 3 and still continues to be a part of our lives.
When we meet Michelle and her lovely family we were especially taken by her genuine and honest approach. Her children are kind hearted and smart, great with the little ones and a testament to her and Nick.
The reason we picked Michelle to care for our daughter was simple but people like her are very difficult to find. A genuine love and interest in children. Calm, kind and supportive. Structured but always with love and flexibility. Violet still takes about Michelle and the family, especially Emily (Michelle’s daughter) who became our daughters ‘big sister’.
Educationally violet came home with so many new skills and couldn’t wait to get in to Michelle house every day for more fun!!!
A truely special person, we wouldn’t hesitate in recommending her’
