About Me
My name is Nicola Young. I am an OFSTED registered Childminder, I am a mum to 4 children aged 20, 12,10 and 8. My husband Peter also lives with us and he is DBS checked as well as my daughter being over 16.
My Experience
I look after children from birth to 11 years of age. I also provide funded places for children from 9 months old. I have NVQ Level 3 in childcare, learning and development. I am DBS checked and hold a current Paediatric First Aid Certificate. I have all the relevant childcare qualifications and insurances. I am based in Hillingdon/Uxbridge in a smoke free house. My whole house is used for childcare, apart from my children’s bedrooms so that children can have all the facilities of a nursery from a warm home environment. As an ex working mum, I understand the stress that parents are under trying to juggle work and home life. Therefore, I am happy to work with parents to help minimise their stress. My key aim is to make sure that each child is a happy child and they feel safe and secure in my care. I provide an educational, fun, warm and loving environment for the children. I engage the children in various fun activities. I take the children to many different toddler groups, soft plays, parks and outside green spaces so they can get lots of different learning experiences. Educational games and creative play are also central to the care I provide. I follow EYFS and help them reach their full potential through play and fun activities.

Nicola has looked after my daughter for two years. Nicola is kind, caring and calm person. She is also extremely reliable and flexible in her approach. She provides a safe environment in a great home from home setting. Nicola exposed our daughter Maja to a variety of fun days out and celebrating different events. I often received little crafts and gifts that Maja has made during the sessions with Nicola. I always dropped my children off knowing that she is in a safe and caring environment and would be updated during the day by photos. Thank you for being the best Nicola. We will miss you so much. X

Nicola is absolutely fantastic childminder.
As a first time parent going back to work and looking for a childcare was stressful but since I met Nicola I knew she is right person to look after Jan and she made the transition very easy for us.
She is very warm, friendly and provide a wonderful environment for children.
We always get warm welcome when we arrive at the front door. I get lots of photo update’s about what Jan is up to throughout the day.
She takes the children to different play groups, parks and soft plays.
I can totally recommend Nicola to anyone looking for professional childcare.

Thank you so much for the lovely review. It’s been a pleasure looking after Jan and I will miss him lots now that’s he’s ready to go to school in September.
Returning back to work from maternity leave was daunting enough without the worry of childcare too, but from the very first time we met Nicola I just knew we’d found the best!
Lola was only 10months old when I returned to work and I was so worried about leaving her, but from day 1 she has absolutely loved being with Nicola.
I know that she is being looked after in a safe and fun environment and by someone who cares about her as much as I do.
Nicola takes the children to numerous playgroups and plans lots of different indoor and outdoor activities. And the difference this made to Lola is amazing.
Nicola goes above and beyond for Lola and for us as a family and I am so grateful that we found her.
I could not imagine anyone else looking after Lola and couldn’t recommend her enough 🙂

My son loved Nicola like she was his Aunty. They had a real bond and still talks about her to this day. She made everyday entertaining for him and he came home everyday with something new to tell me that he had learned. She was also really great to get along with as a parent to another parent

Nicola will go above and beyond to make things easier for your family. Her home is a warm fun environment my kids adore, each day they wake up asking is it a Nicola day, being there is better than being at home! Goes above and beyond to help fussy eaters too.

Nicola is a fantastic childminder, who creates a safe and welcoming environment for the children. She is very much on the go, going to playgroups regularly and making sure the children are well entertained. She has a great setting and provides great resources to help with learning and milestones. Nicolas garden is fantastic, she has lots for children to do. My children love going to her! I couldn't recommend her enough. I have never had to worry when my children are in Nicolas care. Thanks Nicola, you do a fantastic job!

Our daughter has been going to Nicola for over a year now. I was very nervous at first about picking the right childminder but I knew instantly that she would be ok when she settled from day one. Nicola and her family provide a safe, caring & nurturing environment and I’m sure our daughter would go everyday if she could as she loves all the toys/activities on offer and also going to the local playgroups.

As a young mum and as an ex child care provider, I found going back to work hard because I need to find someone I trusted too look after my little girl Luna. When meeting Nicola she made me feel so welcome and everything seemed very natural.
Luna began to settle in with Nicola and absolutely loved being there with no problems at all, which was such a reassuring feeling and Nicola made going back to work such a smooth transition for us all as family.
Nicola provides different opportunities for learning involving indoor and outdoor play and also one thing Nicola provides is external learning, from going to the park, to the zoo or to a playgroup which also allows Luna to meet, socialise and learn with other children.
I can’t even begin to explain how much Luna loves it with Nicola. They have both built a lovely bond together. Nicola has been so supportive and has gone above and beyond for us and we will be forever grateful.

My husband and myself highly recommend Nicola as a childminder. My son smiles every time we pull up at Nicola's house. My son is greeted with a smile everyday, not just by Nicola but her family as well.
Nicola takes the children to different groups throughout the week (one of the main reasons I opted for a childminder rather than a Nursery), reads with them everyday and always has a good selection of toys on offer.
When needed Nicola always goes the extra mile to support us if we need her to have our son for extra hours, an extra day etc.
We are honestly so pleased with the service Nicola provides!

I could NOT recommend Nicola ANY higher. Going back to work for the first time, Nicola has made me feel completely at ease. She looks after my 1 year old and does an absolutely brilliant job. Such a clean and lovely environment she keeps, with lots of toys and books etc. And a great spacious garden. She takes the children out to different groups, is a lovely person - what more could you ask for? My baby has benefitted so much from being care for by her & has learned SO much already. I can say with certainty that I made the right choice for both me & my son.
