About Me

Quickest way to reach me would be to email me directly :) -

I'm currently working at McDonald's part time as it was flexible about my level 3 childcare course which I passed last September & my previous level 3 public services college course which I did for 2 years before that.

I have a full UK driving license although my car is 4 seats not 5 but has all seat belts required & safety locks on doors, no offences or convictions.

Fully CRB checked.

My biggest love after children are my animals, I absolutely adore my pets & take care of them like they are my babies! I have 2 dogs & a cat :) who I take on regular walks and also love children as much as I do!

I love to experience new things and am a bit of a kid in my head myself so love to do fun and adventurous things like go to the park and beach during summer or watch cartoons or do some arts and craft with the children, whether it be colouring, painting or even making a paper aeroplane!

I have a lot of friends that I socialise with in my spare time by going for a Starbucks or to the cinema to watch a new film on the weekend!

I also have a niece and nephew, ages 4 & 2 who are very energetic and loving & my partner has 4 nephews and 3 nieces between the ages of 4-15 who have amazing personalities who I spend a lot of time with!

My Experience

I have quite a lot of experience with children of all ages as already stated I have nieces and nephews of my own and also help take take of my partners occasionally so have experience within a household as well as a school or nursery setting so can adapt to all surroundings.

I first had experience from my public services course when I was on placement with children in year 4 at a primary school teaching them about the 2012 Olympics, which was an enterprise scheme, where I had to help the children think of a sport they would like to compete in is there were an Olympian, we also had to design merchandise such as tshirts or hats to support their chosen sport.

When I went into my first year of child care level 3, I was placed in a nursery and reception class with children aged 2 and a half to 5, my duties were to play with them and help them with their fine and gross motor skills and basic language and numeracy skills such as counting to 10 & 20 & learning to say and write their ABC's, for the children under 4 we focused more on their creative & imaginative skills like playing cooking & house and focusing on the colours of the rainbow!

After leaving the nursery class my next placement was then in a day care where I was situated in the baby room with children aged 6 months to 2 years! I loved the baby room as I got to help teach the babies to crawl and the toddlers to brush their baby teeth and feed themselfs and prepare them meals. We also had to give them bath times and nap times where we would nurse them to sleep with their favourite comforter or blanky.

During my second year of childcare my first placement was in a family centre where I had practice with working with the families and parents of the children as well as the children themselves. I was required to help cook food for the parents and children in the local church and service it to them during meal club. As well as helping at the local church I got to help with children of all ages in the family centre during the day care and also the older children in the after school club in the local school.

Once leaving this placement I then spent some time back in a school but in the year 2/3&4 classes helping children with their class work & understanding of basic Welsh. They would have tests which I would have to help them with & then mark such as spelling tests and maths test. We also had fun time where we would go out onto the yard at playtimes and play games like football & jump rope & have messy play in the class rooms. I was also required to make sure the children all brush their teeth with their individual tooth brushes.

For my final placement I worked in a special needs school where I started off in the nursery department & had to help the children develop their fine and gross motor skills & language and communication, their was a light amount of makaton required for this which I had learnt through my college course. I was then placed in the older ages of the special needs school as they needed a student to help take the children out on day trips to the library and museums & every Friday we would go shopping at tesco which really helped the children's social skills and money handling skills develop!

Since leaving college I have had a lot more experience with working with children through my McDonald's job as I am required to give out colourings and balloons to the children in the play area of the restaurant and interact with them, I have also taken part in a lot of RMHC fund raisers when Ronald's McDonald has come into the restaurant for the children and I've appompanied by providing face paints for the children and made friendship bracelets with them!

Also one of my partners nephews are autistic so I have experience with working with children with special needs & children between the ages of 6months & 15 years
