My Summary

My Experience

I have over twenty years' teaching experience and have held a number of teaching positions. In 1988 I effectively established and taught in a Nursery Unit in my village. I have enjoyed the roles of Reading and Art co-ordinator and have also been involved in musical productions as well as effectively undertaking day to day classroom duties.
I have successfully taught children with a number of difficulties, providing an individual programme of learning to suit their needs both in the classroom and out. I have worked with children who have struggled to learn to read (mild dyslexia), children with Down's syndrome, ADHD and autism. I have attended numerous training courses, ranging from dyslexia and autism to Pie Corbett’s Talk for Writing approach. I have been on numerous training courses over the years.
I also offer one- to- one tuition. I aim to inspire children by teaching English and Maths using a range of visual, audio and kinaesthetic approaches alongside more traditional teaching methods. My strengths as a teacher lie in good relationships with staff, children and parents alike. I am approachable, reliable and committed to my job. My goal is to help each child reach their own potential while remaining firm, fair flexible and fun!

My Qualifications

Qualified teacher.
EDUCATION:
1993 - 1994 PGCE. Leeds Metropolitan University, W. Yorkshire.
1980 - 1983 BA (Hons) Degree in Graphic Design and History of Art (2:1).
1978 -1980 Diploma in Applied Design (Pass with merit). New College, Durham.
1971 - 1978 2 A Levels; English Literature and Art. 8 O Levels including English and Mathematics.

My Availability

I presently have availability on a Monday and Tuesday evening, tutoring in my own home in Holt. I offer help to prepare Year 6 children for their SATS tests.

My Fees

• Tutoring from £40.00 per hour
