About Me
Hi i have been running my childminding business karen’s Kubs for seventeen years since my daughter was 2 she is now 19 and still enjoy working with children.I provide a warm and friendly home from home environment which enables the children to grow and develop at their own pace, we follow the Eyfs framework which means we follow the different areas of leading and track the children’s development . I work along side 2 assistants and we do lots of fun activities with the children which include sensory play , arts and crafts , playgroups ,trips to the park and other organised trips , I also have plenty of outside space for the children to use . I also come from a childminding background as my mum was a childminder and also my sister.
My Experience
I have worked in a preschool with the children ranging from 2-4 yrs and thoroughly enjoyed my time there.
As the eldest of 6 I've grown up with babysitting duties and also coming from a childminding back ground have been use to dealing with children of all different ages.

Karen looks after my young son of 2.5yrs x 15hrs a week..
I went to her after attempting a local nursery but he wasn't settling there at all really which was making me feel anxious everytime he was due to go..So decided to look for childminder as felt maybe he'd be happier in a home environment instead..
I visited Karen at her home to meet her and see surroundings ( large clean modern minimal living area )and straight away my son was more than happy playing with some of the toys and hand feeding her friendly little dogs ?which he was thoroughly enjoying lol. She went through my requirements showed me her huge folder full of qualifications...and as my boy seemed happy I was too so we organised our days/times ready for my son's start with her..
Well oh my word the difference has been amazing as my son has been terrible with separation anxiety and first day he went with Karen he had a bit of a cry when I first left him but within few mins I was receiving pic through whatsapp showing him happy and chilled again he goes to 2 different playgroups with Karen on 2 out of the 3 days he attends Karens and often receive pics of him playing either at group or at her home he's also done some lovely little activities with Karen such as making Valentine's and mothers day cards with painted hand and footprint picture bags aswell as helping make valentines cakes etc.. My son enjoys himself there but at same time is learning social and developmental educational skills he needs to help him go forward in life with confidence to succeed..I also like the fact that Karen has her small friendly pets?? as unable to have a dog ?where I currently live which I always had the opportunity to grow up with,I didn't want him to grow up scared of animals through lack of contact with them this way he gets a good experience with them too.. over all a great experience with Karen? and would never change childminders now..If life took me elsewhere location wise I think I'd have to take Karen with me!..??she's an absolute god send and would highly recommend to anyone looking for childminder services!..????out of 10 from me!..x?
