About Me
Smiles More Fun provides flexible childcare for children from 3 months to 11 years old in Welwyn Garden City (west side) close to the town centre and Stanborough lakes.
I am an OUTSTANDING registered childminder working with my husband who is also an outstanding registered childminder caring for children in our own home providing a clean, safe, caring and secure environment with hours of fun thrown in!
The children in our care benefit from being one of a group, receiving plenty of individual attention and are included in the domestic activites of a family home.
I have two dedicated play rooms providing a safe, secure, fun space filled with plenty of activities and toys for all ages.
I have a large, safe, fully enclosed back garden to play games and other outdoor activities including the use of many outdoor toys and play house.
We live in a peroid 5 bed detached house on the west side of Welwyn garden city.
My Experience
I have been childminding for over 21 years and have looked after children of all ages. My husband has been childminding with me for 17 years.
My Qualifications
I am registered with the Office for Standards in Education (OFSTED). I have a certificate in Childminding practice, infant and child first aid certificate and attended courses on child protection, behaviour management and food hygiene. I have also completed my NVQ level 3. In addition to all the training, I have a natural 'parenting instinct', having a son and daughter of my own.

Lisa and Nigel have looked after our two sons since 2012. Now 7 and 4 respectively both children hugely enjoy their time in the Smiles More Fun setting. Both boys are with Lisa and Nigel from before school until after dinner 5 days a week.
Lisa and Nigel have created a safe and happy environment for the children and go the extra mile to provide them with a constantly varying array of entertainment from arts and crafts to cooking, soft play and day trips to museums and national trust properties.
As a consequence our children are developing into confident, sociable and adventurous individuals with a wide range of interests.
In relation to the more formal areas of learning, the children are given the opportunity to develop at their own pace and both Lisa and Nigel are brilliant at getting them to practice areas of development in a fun and subtle way. They also actively engage with our youngest son's nursery to ensure that they are aligned on his early years learning.
It is very hard to get across succinctly just how highly we rate Lisa and Nigel and how delighted we are that our children are able to go to Smiles More Fun. If we cannot be at home with them ourselves, we can not think of a better place for them to be.
