First Step Se19

Fantastic nursery

We have sent our three children to this nursery and they have all loved their time here because the staff are great, the facilities excellent (huge garden with various play areas) with good food that the children always compliment the chef!

The current management have really stepped up the professionalism of the service since we first came here in 2016 which has got our children ready for school as they’ve learnt to write / count / read all whilst not losing the fun environment we want for our children.

Great Nursery with incredible staff

My daughters have attended this nursery for over two years. The staff are amazing, always working with parents to ensure the best for their children. The nursery is clean, with great facilities, especially the garden. The nursery manager is fabulous and always available to guide and help parents.

Unprofessional style of communication

Poor and unprofessional way of communication from management regarding the waiting list and how spaces are being allocated to new babies on the waiting list. does not fill me with confidence that spaces are allocated fairly. I was told spaces will be allocated in June for September start date, however they were already allocated in May to my surprise when calling on my own accord. Zero empathy for parents with full time work commitments.

Lovely nursery, great space, amazing staff

My 14-month-old boy has recently started at First Step and he loves it. Just two weeks being there I can already sense that my boy has become more confident and more ready to socialize. The nursery has an amazing garden (which really impressed me during my first visit) and they take my baby out to enjoy some quality time under the sun everyday. The food is lovely and my baby comes home with a full belly everyday. The staff are kind and caring. All those little things I thought could be potentially worrying (such as nappy changing, drinking more water, applying sun cream) were all well looked after. My baby had a little difficulty napping at the nursery at the start, but the staff gave lots of patience and extra attention and eventually helped him settle in. For that I am so grateful. At the end of everyday I am able to chat with the lovely manager or one of the carers about my baby's day, and also get a feedback form in which all activities are recorded.

What also puts parents' mind to peace is the nursery's extra effort during the covid pandemic. They teach kids to wash hands often and do deep cleaning at the end of the day. The environment is in general very clean during my every visit and my baby always comes home clean too.

A lovely nursery

We have two children at First Steps, and have been very happy with the care they have received.

The staff are lovely and caring and the kids quickly forged strong bonds with them. We've always been comfortable that the children are very well looked after.

The setting is well equipped and clean and the children get a lot of pleasure from the good sized garden. I'm told the food is good too ("much better than your cooking daddy"), they eat a good variety of healthy food.
