Our Summary
About Us
Mottingham Hall for Children came into the ownership of the present Directors in February 2014. Both Directors share the vision of our future for children, with years of experience owning and managing 2 of the largest and outstanding nurseries in Kent we are looking forward to bringing those qualities in child caring practices with lots of new innovative ideas to Mottingham Hall for Children. Since March 2014 many considerable changes have been made to the internal layout of the building, daily operations, and quality of provision. Our nursery is unique in many ways, and our passion to embrace positive change is evident in all that we do. To share some of our ideas for our nursery :-
UNIQUE: The Nursery is situated in a location which provides the perfect backdrop for the most natural environment a nursery could wish to have. Set in 4 acres of land with its own forest, Mottingham Hall for Children is outstandingly beautiful. It is important to us and our team that EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) is promoted in the most natural way. Our plan is to have our own children’s farm area, with various activity areas for children of all ages with resources in each designated area encouraging the learning and development of children from baby stages to school and beyond. These areas will include planting and growing, maze, wheelie, climbing, sensory and sounds areas
UNIQUE: We are making our grounds parent/child friendly and our plan is to include weekend facilities for the family – a fun day out on their doorstep!
UNIQUE: Our team are encouraged to use the outdoors as much as they can, the children love exploring and enjoying the sheer advantages to the space they have – running, cycling, hiding and reaping the benefits of play with their friends, with and under the watchful eye of the staff team.
UNIQUE: Services designed for our parents to help with a busy lifestyle schedule from breakfast to the ironing!
UNIQUE: We offer extra-curricular activities for the children and the cost is as charged only by the agents we use.
UNIQUE: Back up child care service currently under review. For company or individual, please telephone or email for full details.
Safeguarding is top of the agenda in all that we do. Ensuring we employ the right professionals to work with our children, maintaining a safe environment without causing unnecessary restrictions, encouraging consistent risk assessments not only by our team but by the children as well so they identify with risk in a positive way. Keeping confidential information safe but allowing immediate access in emergencies, promoting information to support transparent management on a daily basis so that everyone entering our nursery has the information they need immediately to hand.
It is important to us all that the children and their families are the priority whenever a decision is made, equally important that wherever possible our families are involved in what we do to ensure their children reap the rewards of a secure, friendly and stimulating environment. Children are at the very heart of what we do and with their families our aim is that every child will leave our nursery with the confidence to manage new environments, and with a passion to learn - something which will stay with them throughout life.
The training and development of our team is an ongoing process as we remain in touch with not only statutory requirements but the ethos of EYFS curriculum and how this is delivered appropriately to our very young children. We are very supportive of continuous reflective practice and our planning for both the team and children evolve around the mechanisms of reflecting on how consistently effective we deliver high quality child care and education and ensuring the outcomes are positive.
Our Management team use and promote ECERS and ITERS (a way to measure performance in a child care setting) and we therefore research the benefits to the children whether in choosing furniture, play equipment, the way a room is laid out, the activities the children enjoy, our local environment and our team, parent and local community relationships. We monitor results continuously and are happy to make changes to benefit.
Our motto is Every Child, Every Room, Every Day. Planning and evaluating, creating new experiences, measuring achievements, assessing every individual child’s needs, and “tuning in“ – getting to know every child. Effective parent liaison with lots of opportunity to share time with our team, regular nursery news, calendar of events, and to make suggestions and offer ideas which are positively embraced.
Our policy is open door observing those needs to create a secure environment, and therefore visitors are welcomed following initial enquiry.
Nursery is open from 7 am until 6.30 pm from Monday to Friday and closes only for Bank Holidays.
