About Me
I am an accomplished childcare professional with over eighteen years of working in childcare.
I am looking for a new nanny position as the current family I am working for are moving.
I am honest, reliable and conscientious with an intrinsic, caring and patient nature.
I am adept at building relationships with children and am attentive to their needs, tailoring my approach to each individual child.
I like being active outdoors and exploring nature with children, cooking with them and doing creative activities with them too.
I provide fun play and creative activities designed to enhance children’s development including their social development.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with friends and family, I belong to a local church and I like going swimming and to exercise classes as well as doing felting.
My Experience
During my 19 years working in childcare, I have spent over the past five years as a nanny and I am currently working in breakfast club / afterschool clubs and holiday club on a temporary basis whilst seeking my next Nannying opportunity. Prior to this, I worked in a variety of early years settings including three and half years in nurseries, working in a playgroup as well as working with older children in after school clubs. I have worked in Children’s Centres in a paid and voluntary capacity. I have also worked with children with additional needs in a youth group, in the community, during holiday activity sessions and voluntarily at a primary school. I help with the children’s work at church too.

Building relationships with children as well as building secure and trusting relationships with parents and working in partnership with them.
Daily care and also before and after school care including drop offs and collection of children as well as holiday care.
Following babies’ / children’s feeding, sleeping routines, and reviewing them with their parents according to their developmental needs.
Mixed approach and predominantly baby led weaning.
Adhering to night bath time /bedtime routines.
Preparing and sterilising bottles.
Taking care of children when unwell and giving first aid in the event of accidents.
Making healthy breakfasts, snacks, packed lunches, and cooked dinners whilst supervising children. Batch meal cooking also.
Allergy awareness and accommodating them.
Assisting with potty training/toileting.
Positive behaviour management.
Role modelling and encouraging showing kindness to others and teaching and encouraging good social skills and manners as well good health and safety.
Encouraging children’s areas of development through interaction.
Providing play, creative, baking, and physical activities as well as nature experiences related to children’s interests to enhance development and engaging with them.
Taking children to swimming lessons, various groups and on leisure outings and organising play dates.
Supervising and supporting children with homework and reading including feedback to teachers and practising spellings and phonics.
Home schooling during lockdown including planning daily learning timetables, and devising and implementing refresh: active play, P.E and creative activities incorporating curriculum subjects.
Supporting children to settle in new environments and also supporting children with transitions and starting new leisure activities and groups, and keeping parents well informed during these times.
Preparing children for a new sibling and helping them to adapt to their arrival.
Supporting children to manage their emotions and developing consistent routines to help them feel secure.
Supporting children with eating challenges and implementing strategies with them.
Household chores including tidying playrooms and bedrooms as well as sorting clothes and toys and washing/cleaning them.

BA - Supporting Children, Families and Communities (according to Ofsted, an equivalent of a level 5/6 Childcare)
HND Integrated Crafts – first year completed
BTEC National Diploma General Art and Design - Merit
5 G.C.S.Es Grace C and above
