About Me

I've been working in childcare for over 20 years. I have a passion for working with children and helping them progress into independent, confident children that are ready to move on to school. I have 2 older children and 6 grandchildren. I am a ofsted registered childminder, and have attended many child related courses, which i refresh yearly. I have had many children attend my setting who now attend secondary school I’m very lucky that they haven’t forgotten about me and they still pop in for a cuppa to see me :)
My daughter who is a qualified teacher also works with me as my assistant, she works closely with the children and follows their learning and development ages and stages and tracks their abilities. We do this by learning through play and having lots of fun. We are very much a home from home setting, with lots of lovely stimulating, and exciting resources and activities. Together we are a little family, I like the children to feel at home in my care and do everything I can to offer them the opportunities to feel relaxed, safe and respected. We attend local toddler groups, the park, libraries and soft play centres. However we are lucky to have a garden offering the children lots of physical activities and we have two rabbits that the children love to care for as part of a daily routine.
We have regular parents evenings to discuss the children's development and milestones.

My Experience
In my previous role I worked as a health care assistant for 10 years, for children who suffered with special educational needs and disabilities. The role was very rewarding, and I still miss the role today.
