My Summary
About Me
I studied in Kent, where I gained my level three qualification in Early Years, I've now been childminding for eighteen years and have three children of my own (aged six, fourteen and eighteen). I offer a personal experience, getting to know you and your child. Developing them to their full potential through play, experiences and activities. We go out nearly every day to places such as farms, Sandringham woods, the library/music time, zoo's, Hunstanton beach, parks and soft play. I also mix with other childminders, so the children get used to mixing in larger groups, ready for school and making new friendships. During the day, I scaffold children's learning by following the guidance of the Early Years Foundation Stage and take into account the children's interests. I love to be outside with the children, giving them the opportunity to learn through first hand experiences. Each child has their own development folder which contains weekly pictures and observations which you get to keep (when your child goes to school) I send regular what's app pictures daily, to show you what your child has done and discuss their achievements.
My Experience
I have worked with children from 2 months old up until 11 years old. I have a variety of resources to suit all ages and have worked with children that have special educational needs and disabilities. I regularly keep myself updated with new legislation and attend courses. Every day is a learning day!

Having your first child can be scary enough but having to send them off into the world without you is even scarier - however, finding somebody who is able to nurture and enrich your child to your own expectations is a very rare find. Roxanne and Little Peaches left us in no doubt that she would be able to fulfil this role and more.
Our son has been with Roxanne since he was seven months old and she has played a pivotal part in his emotional, physical and linguistic development. Being a first-time parent, we were unsure how to navigate the basics like weaning, toddler tantrums and toilet training but Roxanne guided us through each phase with patience, advice and the reassurance that every stage is not forever.
In the very early years, our son was taught how to use the ‘my turn next’ rule to help him become patient when other children were playing with the toys he wished to use – we were able to use this in our home when he interacted with other children and sometimes struggled with the concept of sharing. This is one of the many qualities that Roxanne has instilled in him that we have been able to build on (many times referring to her for guidance in many behavioural matters!).
Roxanne constantly arranges new activities and days out to help the children become well-rounded. This includes days out to farms, soft plays, meeting other childminders and various other settings. Our son is confident in public places but also knows the necessity to stay with an adult and the importance of being safe. He has also been able to make lots of friends through the different childminder meet ups which has prepared him well for starting school in a couple of weeks.
As time went on, Roxanne has supported our child in many aspects of his development, such as: healthy eating, toilet training, maintaining healthy friendships and being safe when out and about. She has been an integral part of our child’s upbringing – to the point where our second child will be joining her very soon and we genuinely would not consider or want anyone else to have such a hand in helping to raise our children.
Our son is articulate, fully toilet trained and very bright – all qualities that we genuinely believe have thrived with Roxanne looking after him for the last four years and we could not thank her enough for that.
Would my child’s needs be met as well as I was doing at home? Would the care provider be willing to follow the routines I had worked so hard to establish? Would my child get an early years education or just have her physical needs met? These were just some of the worries I had prior to leaving my child when returning to work. Leaving your child for the first time with someone you have spent half an hour with prior to the first day is really scary and natural but I can honestly say that my concerns were not needed. Roxanne has provided a consistent 5* service and more importantly, has opened up her home to my child and offered her the same care, discipline and education she gives to her own children.
Roxanne is my first experience of childcare and early years education and I make no secret of the fact that parenting has at times been a challenge. As with most children, my daughter has had her “moments” and while Roxanne has fulfilled her duty of working incredibly hard to instil excellent behaviour and a sense of right and wrong in my daughter when she is in her care, the other outstanding quality is the support she has offered to me during these hard times. Roxanne has given me massive amounts of reassurance and given me suggestions on techniques I could try to produce the outcomes I wanted and has always been willing to integrate my ideas into the way she cares for my daughter to ensure the consistency she knows children need.
I never expected to develop a working relationship as positive as the one that exists with Roxanne; she never clocks off and is always willing to support her childminding families out of hours. She is always coming up with new, innovative ways of enriching the children’s experiences and pouring pure joy into their lives. Roxanne makes time everyday to talk to parents about the day their child has had and I remember being worried about whether I would feel like I knew how my child’s day had really been but again, this was unfounded.
My daughter has loved every day she has been with Roxanne and I firmly believe that her setting provides more than would be possible in a nursery. The children go out on trips at least once a week, if not more frequently and get to socialise with children from other childminding providers very frequently too. My daughter has developed excellent relationships with multiple adults and lots of lovely little children while also making excellent progress with her developmental milestone. I had the option to send her to pre-school but made the decision that she would be better placed to stay with Roxanne, as I believe she’s getting a head start for when she does start school because of the personalised learning she is receiving and has received since she was a baby.
I could talk all day about all the wonderful things Roxanne does for my child and the other children in the setting but ultimately, the most important thing to know is that Roxanne will care for your child as she does her own and you’ll never have to worry about the quality of care, safety, education or fun your child is having while at Little Peaches.
Roxanne is an amazing individual who really cares about the children she childminds. Both of my young children have been looked after Roxanne (from 9 months old), and I have been really impressed with her creativity, her enthusiasm and her ability to get the most out of each child. Both of my children really enjoy going and benefit hugely from the personalized interaction she gives. Not only does Roxanne do really creative activities at home with the children, she also takes them out and about mixing with other children and groups. My older child has just started school and it's clear that the start Roxanne has given her has meant she is excelling at school now and I'm hugely appreciative of that.
Roxanne has been accomodating and flexible from the start and our 10 month old loves little peaches. She has a wealth of resources and knowledge of child development and I feel very confident in leaving my daughter with her all day. The children experience a variety of activities which are both age appropriate and challenging enough to encourage developmemtal milestones. Roxanne welcomes parental involvement and provides a service which makes the guilt of having to leave your little one just that bit more manageable.
