About Me
Hi, my name is Lorraine , I am an Ofsted registered childminder living in old Trafford. I have been a childminder since 2008 but have experience working with children for the last 34 years. I am a kind, caring and gentle person. I form a lovely bond with the children I care for. I was graded good in all areas on my last Ofsted inspection in June 2019.
I have 2 children of my own , a daughter 26 and a 13 year old daughter. Children are welcomed into a smoke free, warm, clean, friendly, fun and family environment. They are given every opportunity to learn, develop, play and grow.
At the end of each day I send parents a short message of their child’s day. I have excellent working relationships and communication with all parents.
I provide homemade nutritious meals and offer healthy snacks throughout the day.
We attend many different playgroups, parks and libraries and museums. During the warmer weather i love taking the children on picnics.
My playroom has a wide range of educational & fun toys to suit all ages. The children have plenty of arts and crafts materials readily available for then to be creative and explore with. I have a little garden that has outdoor toys, a sand and water table for children to play in a safe and secure environment .
My Experience
I love my role as a childminder & love working with children of all ages. I have now been working with children from birth upwards for the last 31 years. I worked as an au pair in the USA for 11 years and continued working with children upon my return to the UK.

BA Hon in Professional development in Education
Foundation degree in Early years and childhood studies.
NVQ 3 in children's care learning and development
Paediatric first aid
Safeguarding children professional abuse

WellCom speech and language training.

Lorraine looked after my little boy since he was 18 months old, and its clear he loves spending time at hers. She has provided a safe, homely and loving environment and has been a key part in his development. She often takes the children to many different places such as the library, park and to different play groups which we get to see with regular picture updates. She also provides healthy home cooked meals which our fussy son always enjoys! Lorraine is a natural with children, they are treated like her own and i couldn't recommend her enough to anyone looking for childcare!

My daughter went to Lorraine's from 3-4 years old after school nursery & over school holidays. She really enjoyed her time there with Lorraine and the other children. Lorraine was caring and communicative, sending lots of photos and meals. She also takes the kids on outings, often at the park and local library story time. We felt relaxed going to work knowing our daughter was with Lorraine & would highly recommend her.

Lorraine looked after my little boy for 2 years, from 2-4 years old. She provided a very happy 'home from home' childcare experience with lots of days out and learning through fun. She kept me fully updated on what he did and provided extra support where he needed it. He was very happy in her care and I was very happy going to work knowing that he was well cared for. I would totally recommend Lorraine to anyone looking for childcare in a family environment.

My daughter Mara has been going to Lorraine since she was three months old and I needed some help while I attended medical appointments one morning a week. She’s now nearly a year old and goes to Lorraine’s house twice a week.
Lorraine is experienced, reliable, trustworthy, and a thoroughly lovely person and Mara really enjoys her days there. She takes the children on walks, and cooks them lovely home cooked lunches - I am sometimes quite jealous when I see what she’s eaten! All in all I would highly recommend Lorraine to any parent.

Lorraine looked after our little boy from the age of 10 months to three and a half. She provided a welcoming, safe and stable environment from the word go, which was really important to me as a first time parent. She was flexible on the odd occasion I needed to make changes to my son’s attendance days and to more long term attendance patterns. My son was always happy to go to her house and made some really good friends. Prior to lockdown they took the opportunity to go to community groups around Old Trafford, as well as museums in Central Manchester. I would definitely recommend Lorraine to any parents seeking a childminder in OT!
