Caring Childminder

Lorraine looked after my little boy since he was 18 months old, and its clear he loves spending time at hers. She has provided a safe, homely and loving environment and has been a key part in his development. She often takes the children to many different places such as the library, park and to different play groups which we get to see with regular picture updates. She also provides healthy home cooked meals which our fussy son always enjoys! Lorraine is a natural with children, they are treated like her own and i couldn't recommend her enough to anyone looking for childcare!

Excellent & Caring

My daughter went to Lorraine's from 3-4 years old after school nursery & over school holidays. She really enjoyed her time there with Lorraine and the other children. Lorraine was caring and communicative, sending lots of photos and meals. She also takes the kids on outings, often at the park and local library story time. We felt relaxed going to work knowing our daughter was with Lorraine & would highly recommend her.

Fantastic Childminder

Lorraine looked after my little boy for 2 years, from 2-4 years old. She provided a very happy 'home from home' childcare experience with lots of days out and learning through fun. She kept me fully updated on what he did and provided extra support where he needed it. He was very happy in her care and I was very happy going to work knowing that he was well cared for. I would totally recommend Lorraine to anyone looking for childcare in a family environment.

Fantastic childminder

My daughter Mara has been going to Lorraine since she was three months old and I needed some help while I attended medical appointments one morning a week. She’s now nearly a year old and goes to Lorraine’s house twice a week.
Lorraine is experienced, reliable, trustworthy, and a thoroughly lovely person and Mara really enjoys her days there. She takes the children on walks, and cooks them lovely home cooked lunches - I am sometimes quite jealous when I see what she’s eaten! All in all I would highly recommend Lorraine to any parent.

Great local Childminder

Lorraine looked after our little boy from the age of 10 months to three and a half. She provided a welcoming, safe and stable environment from the word go, which was really important to me as a first time parent. She was flexible on the odd occasion I needed to make changes to my son’s attendance days and to more long term attendance patterns. My son was always happy to go to her house and made some really good friends. Prior to lockdown they took the opportunity to go to community groups around Old Trafford, as well as museums in Central Manchester. I would definitely recommend Lorraine to any parents seeking a childminder in OT!

Home from home!

Both of my children have been with Lorraine since they were around a year old. I couldn't be happier with the care Lorraine provides - I can honestly say I am as comfortable sending them to her as I would be to a member of my own family. The children are well-supported in their development while having lots of fun doing a variety of activities and they especially love their trips to the local park. Now that my older child is attending nursery, Lorraine also does pick-ups and drop-offs for us which is a great help. Lorraine and her family are so welcoming and caring, my children genuinely enjoy spending time at her lovely home and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for childcare.

Lovely and professional child minder

Our son Ted came to Lorraine when he was 9 months old and still goes now at 2 years 2 month. He does four days a week and Lorraine is so kind, patient and warm and always very professional. They go to the park, the library and do lots of play and flashcards together in Lorraines' home- Ted always comes home with a new word or colour or numbers. It's very reassuring to be able to drop Ted off and know he's going to be really well looked after, have a good play with the other kids and Lorraine sends little pictures through the day and a round up at the end of what tasty food and snacks they've had, and what they've got up to and naps etc.

As a new mum I found Lorraine is also really supportive with advice and what little phases Ted was going through, and really good to chat to generally with all her experience of caring for young children. I really couldn't recommend her enough as a child minder, and am so grateful for all her hard work in keeping our son safe and happy.

A Childminder You Can Trust

Our son came to Lorraine when he was 6 months. She did an incredible job getting our son into a good routine especially with the naps. Her home is like a home away from home. She is really engaging with children, ensuring they go on walks, do activities and eat nutritious food. She mimics the home environment as best as possible. Our son really enjoys being with Lorraine. We highly recommend her.

Home from home

Our little boy has been with Lorraine once a week since he was a year old - initially we were worried that he wouldn't settle given it was only one day, but he's loved every minute and settled with Lorraine (and her wonderfully kitted out, spotless) playroom from day one!

Lorraine sends updates on the day about where he's been, what he's done and eaten etc plus action photos from the day. All the kids in her care seem relaxed and happy and she has been totally professional from the start. We couldn't ask for anything better and would 100% recommend Lorraine for anyone looking for a fab Childminder in the Old Trafford area!

Brilliant short-term care for small baby

I was recently looking for a childminder or nanny to take my seven week old baby for two days while I attended a conference during my maternity leave. I was so lucky to find Lorraine - close by in Old Trafford, with years of experience of nannying and childminding, including newborn experience, which was very important for me.

She is clearly an excellent and professional childminder, a loving and resourceful carer of babies, toddlers and small children. Lorraine's home is well-organised, stocked with lots of toys, and she takes the children for daily walks and to many local groups - there are many in Old Trafford.

Because the baby was so young and it was a short-term placement, she kept in touch throughout the day, reassuring me she was in the best of care. I was extremely happy.

Lorraine is based near Seymour Park and in walking distance of Trafford Bar tram stop - she would be a great choice for people working at the University or hospitals, or who live in South Manchester and travel into town. There is good parking on her street for drop-offs. I recommend her warmly!
