About Me
Originally from London, I now live near Nantwich. I have 4 children between the ages of 13 and 26. As a OFSTED registered childminder my aim is to create a safe and stimulating home environment where children are happy and can play and learn together. I want to inspire children to develop a love of learning by creating a space where children will be motivated to explore and discover, imagine and create, to make friends and have fun. I am currently working towards accreditation following the curiosity approach to Early Childhood Education, that is inspired by Reggio Emilia, Steiner and Montessori.
I plan a variety of activities for the children in my care based on their needs, interests and stages of development. We do many creative projects, explore stories and role play, enjoy sensory play and work on STEM challenges (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). We learn about healthy lifestyles and enjoy exercise together. We go on regular outings to provide them with a broad range of experiences and mix with larger groups of children.
My Experience
As well as my experiences as a parent, I have 30 years of experience working with children from birth to teenagers in a variety of settings. I have worked as a teacher in nursery, reception and Year 1. I have lived and worked in the USA as an Au Pair and summer camp counsellor. I have also worked in day nurseries and family centres with children aged 3 months to 5 years.I have experience of working with children with special needs.
My Qualifications
I have NNEB qualification and qualified teacher status, specialising in Early Years Education
My Availability
I have 1 full time vacancy from January 2022.
I can collect and drop off from St Oswalds CE Primary School, Worleston
I can provide childcare during school holidays.
