About Me
I am 48 years old and a mother of two children, 13 and 14 years old.
I am a caring, patient person and will offer a safe, stimulating environment with a wide range of activities designed to emphasise play and social skills as well as learning.
I have always wanted to work with children and having my own has been a blessing. Watching them flourish into happy, healthy and confidant individuals and prepare them for their school years ahead has been a joy.
I enjoy taking the children to various church play groups, play zones, parks, sing and sign and more….
I like to have only 1 family at a time if possible as I prefer a one to one with the children.
I work from the family home as I find the children settle better within their own surroundings.
If you do wish childcare from my home we can consider this too.

Sam has regularly looked after my son - now almost three - since he was nine months old and I cannot recommend her highly enough. As a mum herself, she is always firm but fair and fun, and she works hard to provide a variety of activities for my son to engage in, at various local playgroups, toddler classes and parks. Sam is caring and thoughtful both towards my little boy and also me - she keeps me informed of what my son is busy with or how he is feeling whilst in her care and I have always felt totally confident that he is happy and, most importantly, safe when with her. She is also a stickler for encouraging good behaviour and lovely manners in little ones, which reflects my own approach and has been an added bonus!

Samantha worked for our family for quite a few weeks while I was in the middle of a job change. Samantha looked after my 9 months old very fussy boy. Samantha was so naturally warm and welcoming that it didn't take more than a few minutes before my boy started playing with her. I could easily leave them alone while they explored the toys and books. The little one would babble so much to her and looked very happy.
My boy had never taken milk/food from anyone else (despite trying for weeks in nursery) but Samantha managed to feed him full lunch and some milk as well. Samantha could put him for a nap and she was extremely careful about child safety. Even though we have a very sensitive child monitor she made sure that went up to his room to check that he was safe. Samantha was also very careful about making sure that none of the toys could cause chocking hazard and removed anything that didn't look safe (toys from my older boy). She used that time to help me with some household chores like cleaning baby bottles, loading dishwasher. For a busy mum like me it was extremely helpful.
My Qualifications
Qualifications - Safe Guarding and Child Protection Training.
Paediatric First Aid.
Anaphylaxis Awareness course.
DBS checked.
Insurance.
My Availability
I can work four full days from 9am till late. Term time.
School holidays - 2/3 days a week if required.
I have several references you can either read or call them.
Minimum 20 hours required
Travel expenses 50p per mile if required (outside West Bridgford/Edwalton/Gamston area.
I can also work late evenings Monday to Friday 6/7pm - late. if you require a night out without children or work.
Minimum 3 and a half hours in the evening.
Last minute cancellation pay in full.
