About Me
Hello! Thank you for looking at my profile. I am a 43 year old mother of two. A girl (born 2014) and a boy (born 2017). I am a primary school teacher, I have childminder qualifications and I am a private tutor.
I offer tutoring that is tailored to the needs and interests of your child. My 21 years experience as a class teacher gives me an excellent knowledge of the subjects and current curriculum, allowing me to focus my sessions on addressing the gaps in your child's understanding, and giving them firm foundations to build future learning on. I have taught year 1 up to year 6 and have experience of teaching children with a range of Special Educational Needs. The children I tutor make excellent progress in a way that is fun and helps build confidence. Mistakes are very much seen as key to the learning progress and are good starting points!
I am also available for babysitting.
My Experience
I have experience of caring for children from 0 - 5 (through my own experience of bringing up my own children). Through teaching I have experience of a variety of special needs, including autism and ADHD.
I have 21 years experience of primary teaching including many years in Year 6, so I have an in depth knowledge and understanding of KS2 SATS requirements and preparation. I have a track record of helping children achieve accelerated progress in Reading, Writing and Maths.

My Availability
I am currently available for tutoring after school on Mondays and Tuesday. Holiday times may also be possible on request.
For babysitting I am available on weekend evenings.

Julie started working as a Maths & English tutor to my year 6 daughter in September - Julie has given her extra confidence and focuses her time on areas where she feels she may be struggling. Julie and my daughter have built up a strong relationship. They openly talk to each other and my daughter also now challenges and questions her on topics where she previously just listened. Julie is very confident, supportive and understanding of the pressures a Year 6 SATs child faces and with her support, my daughter is already showing a very good improvement. I have no hesitation in recommending Julie to anyone and am supportive of Julie sharing my personal details with future families considering a tutor for their son/daughter.
