About Me

Hi! Im Carla,

Im an Ofsted register childminder graded 'outstanding’ for the second time on last inspection. I live in the Longbridge/West Heath area with my husband and 3 children, our home is a happy and loving environment and usually bustling with children and activities. I would say I am a very positive bubbly person, have a ‘home from home' setting, I strive for children to feel, welcome, valued, comfortable and safe here.

I have worked in childcare settings since leaving school and then set up my own business as a childminder in 2005. I grew up in a childminding house hold as my mum is also a childminder, and has been for almost 40yrs so this is a job I have had a lot of experience in and with all different ages, it is a job that I love, enjoy and take a huge amount of pride in! I attend lots of different training courses that keep me up to date with all of the Latest information and statutory requirements.

On a day to day basis we have a routine school run to and from Albert Bradbeer school. In between this I attend local children's playgroups, soft play areas, library's, parks, duck ponds, farms, and occasional coffee meet ups with other childminders and children where we all sip on babychinos having some group time talking and colouring/reading. We also have our down time when needed, for children to rest/sleep and recuperate or just when children need that extra cuddle and relax.

I work closely with two other childminders so the children in my care have a close knit and sociable network around them. We have day trips together to slplash pads in the summer, sea life centre, butterfly farms, zoo's, museums, train rides, country parks, walks in the woods, duck ponds, playareas, cinema, and many many more.
I provide a wide range of activities in my home such as singing, story time, small world toys, dressing up, and dancing to board games, duplo/lego, cars, animals, painting, colouring, playdough, sand and water, messy play and lots lots more to cover all 7 areas of learning. Activities are very much child led so that we can build on the interests of your child and go at their pace.

I track children’s development and build up a learning journal so that I can help the children in my care grow and develop to their full potential.

I am very passionate about what I do and put a huge amount of effort in to my work, to see the children I care for thrive, develop, reach goals and be the best that they can be.
