About Me
I once had a child say to me, “You’re not an adult, you’re Dan-Dan.”; to this day, that resonates as one of the kindest and most endearing things anyone has ever said to me but it also stands as testimony to what I mean to the children in my care and the uncanny way in which I am able to connect with them.
For the past 3 years, I have been a full-time parent to my son and this added a whole new dynamic and depth to my skill as a carer but what sets me apart from others you could consider? That is simple: I am me. I am the only one of me that exists within this world and, although this is obviously true for each of us, I do what far fewer do and lean into that. I am an inquisitive and thoughtful soul who could be painted as an over-thinker, depending on who holds the brush and what colours they possess. I am patient, engaging, reliable, supportive and more than comfortable with being silly and children love that. I am also a parent and this means I have been able to look at childcare from both adult perspectives, so you can always rest assured that your child would be in the safest of hands and I have a rainbow family of children and their parents who would shout from the rooftops in agreement.
My Experience
I am a qualified Early Years educator and, for the better part of a decade, have taught pre-school, which involved leading a team of adults in the day-to-day operations and duty of care owed to a collective of children aged 2-5. I have also created and delivered workshops and seminars, to parents and practitioners from other childcare settings on the art of storytelling.
I am trained in Makaton, well versed in the EYFS and Development Matters framework, experienced in supporting children with SEN, and have years of paediatric First Aid, safeguarding and child protection training.

My Availability
Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:00 as the skeleton but I am open to discussing some variance where your need and my home life coalesce.
