My Summary
About Me
Hello All,
My name is Timnit , I am originally from Eritrea, but I was born and grew up in Italy.
I am a Mum of three gorgeous girls .
I am 36 years of age, responsible and mature especially when it comes to take care of vulnerable little and adults people.
i'm an experienced warm,nanny/carer who is firm but fair.
I have been looking after babies and children for more than 10 years .
I find looking after children quite rewarding, and I feel really privileged to have been involved in the education and development of the children I have worked with so far.
-I can follow the routine that has been set out from the family/and collaborate to create one.
-I cook to a reasonable standard for the child/children
-I am a person who enjoys being outdoors in all kinds of weather , doing different activities,
who is motivated
who can work under own initiative.
I am passionate about working with children, helping them develop and exploring their world through play. I have worked with children from early age to 10 years old for the past 10 years as a full/part-time nanny with own child, sole charge and mother's help.
I believe that it is important to implement the routine that each family prefers but I bring to that routine my own love of playing games and encouraging children to be imaginative and to have fun.
I understand the need to be 100% reliable and punctual and of maintaining great communication with the parents whilst their children are in my care.
Therefore i have a DBS CHECK registered on the updated service.
NOT CURRENTLY OFSTED REGISTERED- Happy to become if family requires/wishes
My Experience
Experience:
Oct 2024 - Jan 2025
Part-time role: Nanny to a 4 months boy -Hackney wick
Duties include: sole responsibility for the child; organising and delivering a daily schedule to include preparation of and feeding all meals, indoor play, local activity, nap times.
Jan 2024 - July 2024
Advisor and Elderly Project Worker - Eritrean Community in UK (ECUK), Islington, London
April 2023 - December 2023
Volunteer Advisor and Elderly Project Worker - ECUK, Islington, London
~Advice & Information – 1-1 appointments with the elderly to provide advice on health, benefits, pensions, debt and any financial issues. I’ll signpost them to the correct information and assist in booking the necessary appointments, completing application forms on their behalf, and translating.
~ Developing and managing health, social and cultural activity programmes for the elderly to introduce them to activities they may not easily have access to or may be excluded from.
~ Monthly or bi-monthly awareness raising workshops and events arranged and delivered with a health focus e.g. workshops addressing healthy eating, how to budget for food shopping, menu planning, how to develop a healthy lifestyle etc.
~ Provide informal cultural appropriate advice/ counselling where necessary
~ Liaise between clients and external agencies to achieve services/support best
~ Use IT for statistical and record-keeping and document, and prepare periodic report
In addition to working with the elderly, I work directly with diverse groups of families who come seeking advice around various issues including:
~ Homelessness - I help signpost them to the necessary information, and as a result of what they choose to do and their circumstances, I direct them to the council, help them apply for housing and guide them to where they can apply for food vouchers.
~ Family interrelationship issues - Mediating between adults to help them resolve the issues within their relationship and help them understand the cultural and social differences in the UK relating to raising children. The goal is to mitigate any risks that could result in the children being taken away from their home.
~ General life admin - Majority of the families I work with have recently immigrated to the UK so they struggle to understand the day to day life admin. For example, I help them understand any bills they receive, any grants they are eligible to apply for, translating government documents.
~ Help the families plan any activities for their children during half term.
April 2023 - July 2023
Refugee Support - Casework Volunteer, British Red Cross, London
Part-time role and the duties include:
~ Providing administrative and operational support functions to the Refugee Support team in
accordance with the needs of the team.
~ Shadowing colleagues on safeguarding calls. For example, calls with individuals struggling with
their mental health and self harming, and I act as appropriate. .
Feb 2023 - Dec 2023
Nanny - 9 month old girl and 1 year old girl (cousins), London
Part-time role up until Dec 2023 but I still support the family on an adhoc basis as we maintained a good relationship.
In this role, I was working alongside the children’s grandmother and supporting her with the duties. This included organising and delivering a daily schedule to include preparation of and feeding all meal, preparing lunch,
Achievements: One of the goals in this role was to align the schedule of the two girls because the grandmother struggled to handle the two routines that the children were used to in their own families and nursery. By the end of my position, they had a set routine and the grandmother was more equipped in maintaining the routine.
Sept 2021 - June 2022
Nanny - 10 month old girl (In addition to my own 8 month old daughter), London
Duties include: sole responsibility for both children; organising and delivering a daily schedule to include preparation of and feeding all meals, indoor & outdoor play, a local activity, nap times, bath time and preparation of and putting to bed.

Jan 2019 - June 2019 - A young family of two adults and twin children
~ I helped the family register with the GP, arranging doctor/dentist appointments, arranging the immunisation of the children.
~ Taking the family to the local library and identifying different activities for the children.
~ Providing advice and guidance on coping as a first time parent and child development June 2020 Sept 2020 - A single mum with twins
~ The mum had language barriers (Eritrean nationality) and so I helped her with resolving issues with the council, attending important meetings to help translate conversations, and applying for grants to help with the costs of house appliances.

We’ve been so lucky to have Timnit as our babysitter for our 6-month-old son. She’s incredibly trustworthy, punctual, and attentive — everything you’d hope for when leaving your child in someone else’s care. Timnit plays so well with our son, takes wonderful care of him, and often takes him out for walks, which he loves. She’s friendly, calm, and clearly has a natural way with babies. We HIGHLY recommend her to any family looking for dependable, loving childcare.

Thank you 🙂
We feel incredibly lucky to have found Timnit! She joined our family when our son Max was just 8 months old, and for the past three months we’ve been working together regularly — a rhythm that has continued to be a wonderful support for all of us. From the very beginning, she brought such warmth, confidence, and experience into our home, and has quickly become an invaluable part of our lives.
One of the biggest milestones Timnit supported us through was helping Max transition to his own cot — something we had really struggled with ourselves. She offered practical tips that made the change feel completely stress-free. In fact, she was the first person to successfully put him down to sleep in it, and thanks to her calm and intuitive way with him, she made that first transition gently and confidently. To this day, she’s able to settle him for naps in a matter of minutes.
Thanks to her guidance, we’ve also been able to establish a daily routine that works beautifully for Max — especially when it came to his naps, weaning, and settling into a solid rhythm of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She also helped us drop night feeds, something we had been quite anxious about. With her reassurance and support, the process went far more smoothly than we expected.
Beyond the essentials, Timnit took the initiative to research and share local learn & play sessions, as well as age-appropriate activities we could do with Max. She also recommended introducing soft play blocks at home to encourage his movement, and they’ve truly been a game changer!
She regularly shares photos and videos of their time together, especially when they’re out exploring, which gives us so much joy and peace of mind. Max absolutely adores her — he lights up every time she arrives, and it's easy to see how much he’s learning from their time together. She is teaching him little things like waving and pointing, and it’s amazing to see how he is beginning to remember new words and their meaning.
We trust Timnit completely and couldn’t ask for a more thoughtful, warm, and knowledgeable person to care for our son. We recommend her wholeheartedly!
