My Summary
About Me
I am an Ofsted rated OUTSTANDING childminder who is passionate about providing excellent, warm, loving childcare and want to ensure every child that comes to my setting has the best possible outcome is settled and happy and has fun!
My recent Ofsted inspection in March 2016 was graded OUTSTANDING.
I have been a registered childminder for 18 years and a mum to 3 children (now grown up).
I live in Reigate with my husband and daughter in a four bedroomed detached house with a huge variety of resources and equipment for indoor and outdoor play. I am within walking distances to the Priory and local parks.
I believe children thrive when they are provided with well arranged stimulating activities and plenty of outdoor play. My routine includes many outdoor opportunities such as visiting Box Hill Bugs or a visit to my shared allotment called Tot's Patch to cultivate, dig, explore bugs and to grow and try new foods.
I also have a friend with wonderful horses that we visit.
Outings include visits to National Trust places, local parks, farms , Mercedes World and local toddler groups.
Indoor activities include art and craft, messy play, and home baking is a regular feature. The results are enjoyed by parents and children alike!
Healthy eating is very important and all meals are home made.
I record all our activities in a daily diary that goes home each night and will regularly email photos of the fun your children are having.
My teaching is based on the principles in the EYFS and each child has individual learning journals and planning.
I am very organised to ensure my childminding practice runs smoothly
My Experience
I ensure that I keep my childminding knowledge updated by regularly attending childminding courses.
Everyone in my family has an enhanced CRB check . I hold current Safeguarding and Prevent Qualifications supporting British Values. Also First Aid and NVQ 3 in Childcare and Early Years
All my previous inspections have been Outstanding and I strive hard to maintain a high standard of quality childcare.
My recent report stated " the childminder demonstrates an extremely strong drive to maintain her excellent standards" and " the children are very happy in the atmosphere which oozes with positivity"
It also mentioned " the children make excellent progress in their learning" and " the childminder includes parents exceedingly well in assessing their children's progress"
I have many positive written references from parents and my local SureStart centre.
But more importantly being a mum also provides additional insight into children and understanding their individual needs, so I can create a warm atmosphere so they are happy and settled in my home .

Sheridan has been far more than we ever expected. Our little girl was a lock down baby but this didn’t stop Sheridan doing all she could to get us and our daughter as familiar as we could. We got a video of her home and plenty of meet ups in the park. Sheridan really does provide a homely feel with all the reassurance and encouragement needed in a spacious home with lots of toys. Our little girl has really flourished in her care and we have not had to worry about anything. Sheridan is confident and clear in her communication and great with fun and creative activities for learning. She always gets the children out the house in the morning for weather appropriate activities which are talked about for days after. Sheridan has handled allergies well and despite the change still created amazing healthy food for our little girl without her realising she couldn’t have certain foods or was different to the others. Can’t recommend her enough.

Sheridan looked after our girls for almost four years and we are so grateful for everything she has done. Each week brings a different activity at Sheridan's house. When they were able to, the girls would go on days out to the farm, they would go to the allotment that Sheridan shares with other local childminders to look after and pick the fruits & vegetables (we even had some brought home for our dinner!). Library visits, ballet classes, fun at the local playgrounds/feeding the ducks. They get involved with Peppa Pigs Muddy Puddle Walks and other Children In Need challenges etc. Days at home are spent doing activities that Sheridan has planned and the children truly enjoy. Whether its baking, crafting, cutting and sticking, drawing or matching activities, she does it all with a focus on early years learning which I believe has given our girls a huge headstart in their education.
The girls would always run into the house in the mornings, so it was very clear that that they settled in so well and so quickly. Sheridan's house became a home away from home and Sheridan and Kieran became family to us too. The girl's best interests were always at the forefront of Sheridan's mind as well as their happiness and safety. They would have home cooked meals for lunch and always ate well! (Sheridan has the magic touch when it comes to getting them to eat their vegetables and even getting them to take naps!) Her garden is fully kitted out with a swing and slide as well as a mud kitchen and ride on toys!
We felt so reassured that the girls were in a safe and loving environment whilst we were at work with photos & videos sent to us daily of what they were doing and they always had the biggest smiles on their faces.
The only reason for us leaving is due to relocating to Scotland but we feel so very fortunate to have had Sheridan in our lives. We couldn't have asked for a more caring, loving, organised, supportive and just overall fantastic childminder and we are so sad to have to go & not be able to take Sheridan with us!
Thank you so much for everything, Sheridan x
Our daughter was under Sheridan’s care for almost two years and it is thanks to her provisions that has enabled our daughter to develop into a confident and caring toddler. Days are well structured and purposeful with a wide range of activities: feeding the ducks in the park, scooting, gardening at the allotment, feeding the horses at the stables, ballet, play groups, literacy and numeracy activities, colouring, painting, music and the mud kitchen to name a few. We received updates and photos throughout the day and a detailed description of the day in a diary. Sheridan was also very proactive in assisting in the potty training, with a reward chart and stickers. Our daughter developed a lovely relationship with the other children under Sheridan’s care, she was always very excited to see them and would talk about them at the weekend. I would not hesitate to recommend Sheridan.
My children (1 yr and 2 yr) are currently being cared for by Sheridan and she is doing an amazing job. They settled very quickily and clearly enjoy their time spent with her. Sheridan is very warm, calm and highly experienced, they feel very safe and secure with her. She provides a brilliant range of age appropriate activities on a daily basis. Examples include playing on her allotment, visiting her friends horses, a ballet class, box hill bugs, playing with the mud kitchen in the garden, arts and crafts and plenty more. My children have made new friends that they see regularly through Sheridan's network of childminders so it's a very sociable experience for them. Sheridan sends home comprehensive notes each day in a diary which includes information on what they have eaten, naps, activities and observations (linked to the EYFS). Also funny comments and stories from the day which are lovely to read. I really cannot recommend Sheridan highly enough, my children have blossomed in her care, and it's only due to employment issues that our time together is coming to an end.
Sheridan has looked after two of my children-my youngest for four years-until they started school. In the time they were in Sheridan's care, I was never in any doubt that they were being well cared for in a loving and safe environment. She arranged a wide range of activities for the children -which included arts/crafts, organised groups such as baby ballet, visits to farms or parks and even visits to see horses (my youngest has an obsession with horses -Sheridan did her utmost to nurture this love) to name but a few. The daily diary, photos/videos and emails were fantastic for keeping me in the 'loop' about what had been done, eaten, general development, even little (often numerous) conversations/stories etc; it now means that I have a lovely record of my children's progress from the age of 1-5 years. My youngest has just started school and has settled in very well; Sheridan had a huge part in preparing him socially and emotionally for this. She is an amazing childminder (who didn't have any sick days) and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending her to others.
