About Me
Hi, I'm Jane. I am a Registered Childminder, awarded "Outstanding" status by Ofsted. I live in a spacious modern home on a quiet residential development overlooking Horton Country Park with my husband and our grown up children. We also have 2 gentle cats.
As a mother of two, I know that finding the childcare that suits both you and your child can seem like a daunting task.
I offer a warm and caring home environment with a wide range of stimulating toys and activities.
We have a bright playroom with dolls houses, dressing-up clothes, play kitchen, puzzles, books, Duplo, Lego, cars, musical instruments etc. and a large kitchen for our messy crafts like painting, sticking & baking, together with a lawned garden with sand pit, outdoor games and ride-on toys. We are also very lucky to have a small children's playground just in front of our house and direct access to the country park. In addition I attend lots of toddler groups/soft play venues and such throughout the week.
My Experience
I gave up my career in banking to look after my own children, and in late 2001 we moved to Epsom. I decided I was having too much fun with the children to go back to banking and it seemed a natural progression to start caring for other people’s children. In February 2003 I became a registered childminder and I haven't looked back since. I am very proud that I have been recognised as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in all areas of my provision at every inspection since February 2008.
Over the last 19 years I have cared for children from tiny babies through to starting school and beyond.
My Qualifications
I undertake regular training to ensure I use best practice in all areas of my childminding. This includes:
First Aid
Introducing Childminding Practice
Health & Safety
Food Safety for Catering
Speech & Langauge
Safeguarding Children
as well as numerous workshops from messy play to managing fussy eaters.
I have an Enhanced CRB check.
My Availability
I offer care Tuesday-Friday between 8am & 5.30pm and wrap around care for Southfield Park Primary School.

Jane has looked after my youngest for almost a year since he was 8 months old and he has had a wonderful time with her. He’s always been happy to be dropped off and now often claps when we get to the front door. She has a beautiful home, spacious and well set up for the kids and they play all sorts of things indoors and in the garden. The play room is great, he loves the cats and having other toddlers or bigger kids around him to watch and try to join in with. Jane is very organised and has a great set up in place, she writes a helpful journal entry for him every day which I enjoy reading and they’re often going out to parks, playgroups and other childminder’s. She has a very patient, flexible and caring manner with the children and I’ve felt reassured from the 1st day that my son is in good hands. If we lived a bit closer I would have happily kept him with Jane until school years and beyond, but we’ve had some changes with our eldest and have had to move to a Nanny set up. I would highly recommend Jane to any parents looking for a childminder and completely understand why she has an ofsted rating of Outstanding, we will miss her very much.
