My child was with Pat for over 2 years and started before they were a one year old. Pat arranged for us to come and see them before any settling in sessions. I'd explained I was an anxious person and I massively appreciated her letting my baby and I see her with the children. I saw how included they would be and where they'd fit it.
My child has changed so much whilst with Pat - they are walking and talking beautifully with a great vocabulary and can tell us what they've done and what mattered to them.
During their time with Pat, C has been supported to become a neat eater who loves their food; C naturally likes being neat and really loves his cutlery.
C can explore the full range of toys & equipment they like, including; books, nursery rhymes and singing. They love walking to the park, feeding the ducks and using the play equipment upon which they play imaginatively and safely, within their capabilities.
Pat has supported us as parents with many things, and here are a couple of the more recent biggies; dropping a milk bottle drink, reducing & dropping nap time in preparation for pre-school, funding for 2 year olds and toilet training. I like the fact that the training was our job to do at home and when my child was ready, she fully supported the process. Now, C says very clearly when they need to go and what they need to do.
Charlie likes playing with vehicles and there, is able to explore this love with the toys and equipment Pat has inside & out. I'm really happy with the areas that are available to the children in her home - they're spotless when I've seen them and the toys are cleaned on a regular basis. Toys are also rotated and the children can choose what they play with.
If I'd been a stay at home mum, I wouldn't have been able to provide a lot to contact with other children around his age, so being with Pat, C fits in well and can interact with other children and a variety of age ranges; looking them in the eye and engaging well with adults and older people.
Pat has completed the 2 year development paperwork.
I feel we have a good relationship. We can ask Pat anything and I feel she can us. We have our hand over and pick up routines which are clear and C has gone in very easily from the start and we love picking them up. Pat and C clearly have a lovely and trusting relationship in which he feels safe.
As a family, we respect Pat's rules regarding illness. We feel this keeps our (all the minded children) little ones safe and is important for their well being and families, and us as well.
We will miss Pat, but look forward to seeing out about.
My daughter has been going to Pat's for 2 months now. She is 10 months old and was quite fussy with strangers. She immediately liked Pat and is very happy going to her. It has given me peace of mind knowing that she is being well looked after. Pat has a calm demeanor, is friendly and approachable. She treats the kids like her own is quite proud of each of them. She encourages independence in the kids which is helpful given I have an older child. Well done, Pat!
