About Me
*Not looking for a position anymore, but still available for evening and weekend babysitting*
I am currently looking for a 3/4 day sole charge position and can offer evening babysitting.
I'm a bubbly, enthusiastic and reliable person who has a passion for caring for children, having over 10 years experience looking after children from newborn to 10 years old. I love watching children grow and thrive in each area of their development, this helps me be creative in providing various activities in which they are able to develop and learn new skills.
I have a 6 month old daughter who I wish to bring along to my new position as a 'play mate' to my new charge/s. I have absolutely loved spending time with her on maternity leave, taking her to new places and introducing her to the world around her and can't wait for her to socialise further in a one to one environment where she and my new charge/s can hopefully become the best of friends.
In my spare time I enjoy visiting my family and friends, long dog walks, visiting new places, travelling and spending time with my little family.
From a young age I knew I wanted to work with children and jumped at the chance of babysitting which lead me to doing some childminding/ part time nannying. This inspired me to do my Level 3 in childcare to further my career.
I have a full, clean driving license and a EU passport. I am first aid trained and hold a DBS check. Although Im not currently Ofsted registered, I am willing to do this if required.
My Experience
Full time nanny September 2016 to 2023:
Caring for three children, a now seven year old little boy and his 4 and a half year old twin siblings. I solely cared for all three children full time during the week whilst parents are away at work and have cared for the twins since they were born so have recent newborn and multiples experience. My daily duties include, preparing healthy meals and snacks, following routines, guidance towards boundaries and discipline, attend classes, play groups and go on outings to museums, swimming, soft play, parks, farms, playdates and ensure the child is stimulated throughout the day as well as offering advice and guidance to their parents for each child’s developmental needs and achievements. I ensure they have regular dental checkups and arrange and attend any appointments such as doctors, hair appointments ect. They now all attend a primary school in the city so I have been doing the school run and have had an active part in their school life, liaising with teachers, helping with homework and arranging playdates with new school friends. Using my nursery background I ensure they are all meeting the requirements of the EYFS for their age group. I work closely with both parents, ensuring they receive feedback throughout the day and a handover in the evening about the day and activities as well as any other relevant information. I have also solely looked after them on an overnight basis a couple of times whilst the parents have been away.
Senior Baby room Leader- 2012- 2016:
Ive worked my way up from being a trainee to a senior member of staff and then to the baby room leader. This has expanded my knowledge of children and has developed my confidence. I work with children from 3 months to 2 years on a daily basis, occasionally covering in the 2-3 years or 3-5 year rooms. I have extensive knowledge of each developmental stage as we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage as well as the weaning process and potty training. Daily duties include bottle sterilisation and preparation, following routines, providing and preparing healthy meals, nappy changes, setting boundaries, discipline, observing the children and ensuring their safety at all times. I go on regular training courses where I can reflect on my practice and go back and improve the care I am providing. I am a main key carer for 10 children and have a brilliant bond and connection with each child, understanding their individual needs. From my experience I have found children learn more and their self esteem is higher if they have a good relationship with their care providers.
Babysitting, childminding/ part-time nannying- 2007 to present:
I babysit frequently for regular families, mainly in the evening's. I occasionally look after children at the weekends at their homes where I prepare healthy meals and snacks, follow milk and nap time routines, drive to and from activities and day trips, assist with homework, read to them, play with them and provide age related activities. I have looked after 5 children at a time in these roles with ages from newborn to 11 years old.
Maternity Unit Voluntary Work, Stoke Mandeville Hospital- February 2012- July 2012:
I was a volunteer in ‘Rothschilds’, a busy Neonatal and Antenatal ward. This role revolved around catering to the needs of both expectant and new mothers. To achieve this I assisted with stock deliveries, cleaning tasks and administrative duties such as delivering notes and blood samples to certain departments of the hospital. Volunteering in this ward has further developed my patient-bedside manner while also encouraging me to develop organisational skills - critical when patients are in labour.
