About Me
Welcome to my childminding service “Little Builders”.
I am available for childminding and babysitting.
My name is Tanya Markwick. I have been childminding since 2006 when I started on my ‘days off’ looking after children alongside my own children. During this time I have childminded for children from 2months old to 11years old.
My 3 daughters (Becky, Kirsty & Zoe) & son (Tim) are registered as my childminding assistants, working with me on an ad hoc basis when they are available.
I provide a caring and nurturing environment, as when your child feels happy, safe and secure they will have increased confidence to interact with their environment and thus develop to their full potential. I have a wide range of toys and activities to engage and stimulate children at every age and stage of development, enabling them to progress in all areas – physical, social, emotional, communication, creativity, understanding the world around them, literacy & numeracy.
We go on regular walks making the most of the amazing countyside on our doorstep. I regularly attend church baby/toddler groups, take trips out to the park, library, and meet up with other childminders or friends. We go on outings such as to the zoo, farm, garden centre, aquatic centre, soft play and museum.
I am registered with Ofsted and at my last inspection in 2025 was awarded ‘good’. I am a Gold member of childcare.co.uk who provide my insurance. I completed my level 3 diploma in the ‘Children & Young People’s workforce’ in 2015. I have completed paediatric first aid training (last updated in 2024). I have also completed training including safeguarding, food hygiene, Autism awareness, behaviour management, e-safety and schemas.
My daughters have all completed Safeguarding training and Ofsted recognised paediatric first aid training.
I live with my husband, and our childen: aged between 24 and 11. We have an indoor play room and a large fully enclosed garden where we love to spend time.

My son has been with Tanya since September last year and i am sad this year we have to change because of new school times :-(.
Tanya has made my son feel like one of her own and has really helped him come out of his shell. With plenty of activities, delicious food, my son speaks so fondly of her children and home. She is a loving,caring person with a friendly, gracious and accommodating family. A home away from home for my son!
Thank you so much Tanya, you have made this year and that before such a blessing.

Tanya came to my rescue in 2011 when my childcare arrangements for my 11 month old son fell through the week before I was due to return to work, and I never looked back. My son was always happy and content at Tanya's. He loved being around the bigger children and he particularly liked the outdoor space, where there were plenty of things to keep him entertained. Tanya is a warm and caring person and I always felt confident that my son would be well cared for and enjoy his day with her.
I would highly recommend Tanya to anyone looking for local, reliable, caring childminding.
