About Me
Hello!
We’re a fun-loving, down-to-earth family of five with three wonderful children: our kind and creative 8-year-old daughter, our cheeky nearly 5-year-old, and our 6-year-old son, who is autistic. He’s an absolute joy—full of smiles, happiest outdoors or watching Peppa Pig, and passionate about trains, trucks, and anything with wheels!
This role is specifically to care for our autistic son—to support him one-on-one, helping him feel calm, understood, and engaged in the things he enjoys. You’ll be focusing solely on him, but it’s important to know that his siblings are a big part of his world—he loves spending time with them and is happiest when he feels connected to those around him.
We’re looking for someone kind, patient, and reliable—someone who’s up for exploring the outdoors, playing trains, and being a calm and caring presence in his routine. Experience with autism is welcome but not essential—what matters most is warmth, curiosity, and a willingness to learn. I’ll be nearby and can offer support as you get to know him.
We’re a relaxed, welcoming household and would love to find someone who feels like part of the family—someone who brings energy, comfort, and fun into our little boy’s life.
If that sounds like you, we’d really love to chat.
My Requirements
Childcare Needed for 5-Year-Old Autistic Boy
I’m a mum of three (an 8-year-old girl and two boys aged 6 and nearly 5) and I’m looking for a kind, patient, and reliable babysitter or childminder to care for my 6-year-old son, who is autistic. He’s a happy little boy who loves trains, trucks, cars, counting, and Peppa Pig. He enjoys outdoor play, trips to the park, going out for meals, and staying in to watch his favourite shows.
We’re looking for a kind and fun caregiver to provide between 4 to 12 hours of childcare once a week during the school term, with the possibility of additional hours during school holidays (between 8–16 hours a week). We’re flexible on hours and days and happy to discuss what works best for everyone. We are also keen to explore just school holiday roles or term only.
Our home is located in a quiet cul-de-sac on a lovely estate with plenty of space for the children to play, both indoors and outdoors.
What we offer:
* Flexible hours (we can discuss to suit both your and our schedules)
* £13.75 per hour.
* Holiday pay on top of the hourly rate (averaging approximately 10% of hours worked, which can be taken at any time).
* Full training and enhanced DBS check covered if needed
* Long-term position
* Potential Halo Gym membership
If you’re interested and feel you’re a good fit, please get in touch. We’d love to meet you!
