I am a 39 year old, enthusiastic, fun-loving, free spirited and self employed tutor.
Having graduated as a Steiner teacher I have a great interest and understanding in alternative education, gentle, child lead and holistic child development. I'm very creative and like to encourage this in children to help them learn & express themselves. I am available for tutoring and nannying. I have 10 years experience of working with children, 3 years teaching (Steiner Kindergarten, Dragonfly Learning and SEMH School) and 7 years nannying.
I run children's workshops which integrate kinesthetic experience (for those that need to do), fine motor skills, woodland walks followed by art lessons and tutoring.
I have worked in an SEMH behavioral school for the past academic year as a teaching assistant. Prior to this I was a Steiner teacher teaching primary literature, math and art to ages 5 to 11 years. I also taught Crossfields art (holistic version of GCSE) to ages 12 to 14 years.
I have previously worked as an English teacher in Bangkok for a company who taught through songs & pro-active playful games. Due to my teaching experience I am aware of the four types of learners; auditory, kinaesthetic, reading/writing and visual. I therefore combine previous techniques and experience in everyday activities and games with children to ensure all of their needs are fulfilled.
I am passionate about nurturing children, am very interested in child psychological development and believe that learning should be an enjoyable experience.
