About Me
I offer a caring, safe and fun environment in my home setting where the children can learn and grow.
I have 4 years teaching experience in a primary school setting but overall have worked in education for the last 10 years (see qualifications).
I am willing to be flexible with my working hours as I understand the strains and pressure of everyday life.
I am based near Sedgehill Secondary School with Beckenham Hill and Lower Sydenham train stations only a 5 - 10 min walk away. I am also a 5 min walk from Southend Lane which serves the 181 and 336 bus routes.
I will provide healthy foods and snacks and various activities (all age related) painting, baking, dressing up as well as following the EYFS every child matters framework with visits to toddler groups, parks, woodland walks, library's, music groups, phonics, sounds, handwriting, reading, homework and educational visits/days out.
My Experience
10 years experience working in a primary school setting with children aged from EYFS - 11 years.
Working with children with disabilities - social, emotional and detachment disorders.

I have been with Gemma since my daughters were 18 month and two year old they're now 3-4.gemma is trustworthy,reliable and honest.my girls are always happy to go to gemma.she loves the girls like her own.the girls are always telling me about they're days out and the lovely lunches she does.i was weary at first when I went back to work to leave them but seeing how happy they are I know I had no worries at all.gemma is still looking after my four year old as she is awaiting a school to go to.gemma has made sure she doesn't fall behind by doing some school work with her.i dont know where I would be if it wasnt for Gemma and the help she does for me.

I do not usually use childminders as I have always had family to help with the kids. I had an intensive look online and came across Gemma. Gemma has a range of certificates in childcare which instantly made me feel comfortable that she really had a great knowledge of child safety and their well being. When I called her she was warm and reassuring and was able to slot me in with a meet up in good time before I started back at work. Gemma’s house is clean and child friendly her family are lovely and accommodating to all the kids there and she has been so flexible with me as my job sometime requires me to work longer hours at short notice. My son loves the trips to the park and the films that he has watched there. Definitely a five star service. Will be happy to give a reference if needed.

Gemma been taking care of my 11+months old baby boy for the past 3months now and I can tell you he's been well looked after, very clean and well fed, he is always happy to go there and her house/surrounding is very clean and tidy, she shows my baby boy love
She's flexible and reliable with time and even short notice for care she will never let you down, very caring and loving Person, always smiling with a pleasant face, Communication is excellent etc.
I would never trade her in for another childminder am extremely happy and satisfied with her care she provided, Gemma is the Best childminder I ever come across.
Am so happy since the very day I met her

Gemma has been Childminding for my daughter for nearly a year now she has a brilliant bond with my daughter and communicates with me effectively I am very pleased with the child care she has and still is providing!

Gemma has cared for my 7year old daughter for the past year my daughter always comes home happy and with stories to tell of activities been done , she’s always clean and well fed. I find Gemma welcoming and flexible at times has been available at very short notice. I will continue to use Gemma and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend services provided.
