My Experience
2020-2024: I went back to the childminders I had originally started up and within a few months it had grown and is now a wonderful Nursery! I took on the role of Deputy manager and my job role includes observing the children holistically and following the EYFS to plan age appropriate activities to further progress the children’s wellbeing and development following our ethos of in the moment planning using natural resources and the environment around us and following children’s interests to plan activities. I also liaise with parents and carers on a daily basis to give feedback on their child’s day and to offer encouragement and support when needed. I would plan and organise day trips and assist with meal prep. The Deputy role also involves me delegating when appropriate to a small team and assisting the manager/leadership team with any admin and business work and the day to day running of the setting. When the manager is out of office, I then step up to ensure the smooth running of the setting whilst they are away.
2019-2020: I worked for a wonderful family in Sevenoaks looking after their two children. My day to day would be looking after their youngest who was 3 at the time and their eldest who was 6. I would do the school runs, errands, meal prep, organise playrooms, laundry and take the children on days out. Throughout Covid I homeschooled both children whilst the parents worked from home.
2016-2019: I worked for a lovely family looking after their two children who were, 5 years and 5 months old when I started. This position was term time only to allow me to work for Carnival UK as a Youth worker in the children’s clubs onboard cruise ships. My job role as a Nanny included taking and picking up the son from a local school and then looking after the little girl during the day. I planned activities that were age appropriate and took her on fun/educational days out. I also tidied the children’s play/bed rooms and the children’s washing. In October 2017, the lady i nannied for decided she would like to set up a Childminding business with myself. My job role as a Childminder involved me observing the children holistically and following the EYFS to plan and prepare age appropriate activities to further progress the children’s wellbeing and development. I also liaised with parents and carers on a daily basis to give feedback on their child’s day and to offer encouragement and support when needed. I planned and organised day trips and assisted with meal prep.
2016- 2019: My role for Carnival UK (P&O Cruises) was within the entertainment team - as part of the youth department. I primarily looked after children aged 0-8 years but do have some experience working with ages 8-17years also.
2010-2016: I worked at a local Montessori day nursery for 6 years, working with ages 3months - 4 years. I then ran the under 2's room for two years before stepping down and leaving in May 2016 to work for Carnival UK.
