Hi, my name is Sharon, I am a married Mum and have a spacious house and garden, which are ideal for childminding. I have plenty of resources, toys, books, games and craft activities for all ages and stages. I have lots of outdoor toys too for playing in the garden.
I will take children from 6 months to 11 years. I am offering daycare as well as a breakfast club. I can drop off to both Ridgeway Infant and Gayton Junior Schools in Littleover.
I love the outdoors and like to venture out in all weathers. I go out on trips and nature walks as much as possible to parks and playgrounds. In my experience, Children love the freedom of being outside to explore and learn. I regularly visit local playgroups where the children learn to socialise and play with other children of a similar age. We have lots of fun here and I hope your child will too!
My Experience
I am a Mum! I have been a Childminder for 7 years. I have previously worked as a support worker in a school for children with learning and physical disabilities. I have also worked with adults with disabilities.
In addition I have volunteered regularly in local schools.
My Qualifications
I have a BA degree and a higher education certificate in allied health care. I also have A- levels and G.C.S.E.s including Maths and English.
I have achieved the Cache level 3 award - preparing to work in homebase childcare. I hold a paediatric first aid certificate. Amongst others I have completed the following online professional development courses: Delivering the EYFS; Supporting children with Speech, Language and Communication needs; An introduction to Children Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder; Expectations of Behaviour; Raising developmental concerns with Parents; Starting out- Supporting children's emotional well-being; Safeguarding Children; Schemas.
My Availability
I am available 4 days a week - Tuesday, Wednesday,Thursday and Friday 7.45 am to 5 pm.

I found Sharon after I had a bad experience at a nursery settling in session with my daughter and needed childcare quickly as I was returning to work after being on Maternity leave. Sharon was very welcoming and invited my partner and myself in and instantly we felt at home as did my Daughter. My Daughter was so happy playing with the children and laughing with them and she looked so comfortable around Sharon and the children that I felt like this would be a great place for her to grow and also get the attention I think a 1year old needs. My Daughter has been going for 7 months now and loves going there, she gets excited every day when I tell her she is going and she has only ever been happy when I have left her and picked her up this has made me feel so relieved. Sharon is very caring and cares for the children as if they were her own. Sharon is always doing activities with the children she is always taking them out to the park, on walks or to playgroup and my Daughter is always returning with some art or something she has made. Sharon is always helping us out with extra days or hours of childcare at the drop of a hat due to work or family situations. When my Daughter has days not wanting to eat Sharon will try everything to get her to eat something and will keep trying throughout the day and to be honest i am not sure my Daughter would get the same care anywhere else. I think the enviroment is perfect with the layout of Sharon's house with the kitchen diner and play area all next to eachother and the garden and lounge (for naps) leading off. Sharon has always communicated really well with us and Sharon is always happy to listen to us this was a huge help esspeshially at the beginning when Sharon was getting to know our daughter and her cues for things as she doesnt cry often. If I had anymore children I would be more than happy for them to go to Sharon's as I trust her and know she would give them the best start in life.

Our 19 month old son has been going to Sharon for nearly a year now and from day one he has felt comfortable and settled. She has a lovely home and a great set up for children to play. Sharon regularly takes them out to the park, in the garden and our son comes home with paintings that he’s clearly enjoyed making! He is always so happy in the mornings when he sees we have arrived there and often hates leaving! Sharon is professional, friendly and caring and I’m so glad we sent our son to Sharon for his first childcare experience - she puts our mind at rest knowing that he is left in safe hands for the 2 days he’s there. Thank you Sharon!

Sharon has been great with my daughter who was really struggling to socialise after the lockdowns. We're so grateful to Sharon who's really helped her become more confident. She also has a lovely area in her home for childminding with lots of toys. Would highly recommend Sharon

Childminding at Sharon's was the worst experience we had. Inappropriate and argumentative language used towards parents. Not a professional, she expressed a dislike towards my child in a form of bullying, has implied she is a danger to other kids and spreading misinformation about our child. We have previously attended a nursery and had experience with a nanny, and has never faced any issues before. She left the kids to themselves apparent accident occured. Did look after the children while doing her own business, which is unacceptable while kids are so little. My daughter is bilingual, I can't exclude that it was not racism. Be careful!

Our daughter started going to Sharon immediately after turning one. Sharon has played instrumental role in developing her motor, analytical and interpersonal skills. Our daughter was comfortable and happy in Sharon’s care. We have now moved to Australia and hoping to find someone as good as Sharon to look after our child.

Sharon was very patient with my nearly 2 year old son, she has very good facilities including a play kitchen (which my son loved) he was given very nutritious food for his lunch which was a bonus! Sharon writes down everything he got up to in the day, what hes had for lunch/naps/wet nappies and also what she will work on with him to improve his developmental skills!

For the last year Sharon has collected my children on a weekly basis after school and looked after them for the following hour. They love it and always want to stay!
The odd occasion when I've needed additional wrap around care she has been able to accommodate, sometimes last minute.
Childcare will be continuing in the new academic year, and my kids are delighted!

While my son has been in Sharon's care I have been able to go to work relaxed, knowing that he was safe and well cared for. My son has developed a close bond with Sharon, He is always in a good mood when picked up and I have been able to discuss with her his progress, she documents his day in a book with what he has been doing, what he is eating, naps taken and nappies etc. I couldn't ask for better communication.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Sharon to look after your children.
