About Me
Hippy Kids At Home is an established Childcare business run by Beccy and Charlie Bourne, husband and wife team. We are situated in South Portslade and work with a team of assistants.
Our business is 17 years old. We offer a childminding service, for children under 2 years and also own Hippy Kids Playschool at South Portslade community centre. The Playschool is a spacious and Beautiful nursery and forest garden for children over 2 years old.
My Experience
We offer a wide range of activities for children of all ages within our services, including our popular messy playgroup at the community centre on Tuesdays and weekly visits to the local nursing home. We also employ a qualified yoga and mindfulness teacher who plans activities for us each week.
Whilst children are in our care they will participate in lots of different activities such as art, role play, baking, various outings, cultural arts and crafts, stories, music and much more.
We spend some time outside each day if only at Vale Park or in the garden. We have a large tranquil garden, a mud kitchen and a vegetable patch at our childminding setting. At our Playschool we have a beautiful spacious shady forest garden.
Trips to the beach and surrounding parks are very common. We take the children to many farms, nature reserves, beaches and other places of interest.
My Qualifications
We are both OFSTED registered childminders awarded a 'Good' grading at our last inspection. Our staff are all paediatric first aid trained.
Beccys education includes a whole range of subjects including A'Level Religious Studies and HND in Performing Arts. She decided to become a childminder when becoming a Mother in March 2006. Since then she has become a Level 3 Early years Educator and has also completed the level 3 SENDCO qualification.
Charlie is a qualified chef with lots of experience in the catering industry. He prepares all the home cooked meals for the children to eat. He is also a level 3 qualified Early Years Educator and is currently working towards the level 3 forest school leader qualification.
My Availability
We currently offer a service Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm. Please contact us to discuss availability.
We can also provide government funded hours for 2, 3 and 4 year olds.

All outings, snacks, wipes and suncream are included within our rates.
