About Me
Hi! My name is Rebecca, I am 31 years old and I currently reside in Plymouth. I have over 10 years experience working with children and am looking for a part time job as a nanny. I am available ASAP.
I am a genuine, flexible, reliable, enthusiastic childminder who is confident with children aged 2+. I have an abundance of experience ranging from babysitting, to live-in nannying and working overseas as an Au Pair to four children.
I grew up in Cornwall with my parents, twin brother, younger brother and younger sister. My family are all very incredibly close - family is very important to me! I grew up with a sturdy head on my shoulders and like to think of myself as fun, but fair.
I am very passionate about the ocean, being outdoors and being creative - I am currently working on growing my art business. I’m a confident swimmer and would be happy to help with any swimming lessons should that be required. I have my CPR, First Aid and Lifeguard qualifications also.
My Experience
I've worked with children on and off for 10 years. I started running children's weekly 'kids clubs' when I was 16 at my local Health and Leisure Club. I did this on and off for five years in between attending university and spending my summers in America working at a children’s summer camp (which I revisited this summer in Maine, USA). During my summers at the camp I worked as a swimming counsellor where I taught children aged 7-16 how to swim, as well as being a live-in bunk counsellor. Being a counsellor requires patience, ability to adapt to new scenarios and to be understanding / approachable.
Following this I worked as an live in Au Pair whilst in Australia. I looked after four children under the age of 10. I did school drop off’s, helped around the house and took the kids swimming / to the park and entertained them on weekends when required - I absolutely loved it.
Once I arrived back in the UK after my trip to Aus, I started work as a Teaching Assistant which I did for four months at my local primary school. This was another great learning curve and I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the school. I helped teach Reception and Year 6.
Following this, I decided to take a job in central London working as a PR Manager. I left London in 2019 to re-locate back to Cornwall where I worked as an Outdoor Activity guide in Newquay for three years.
In 2022 I moved into the yachting industry where I worked as a Deck/Stew - which involved housekeeping, service and running the water activities. We travelled all over Europe which was an amazing experience - we often had children onboard where we were challenged everyday to keep them entertained (although it wasn't too hard on a yacht with a lot of toys!)
With the bustling summer now over, I am back in Plymouth to chase my dream of selling my art and would love to get back into babysitting / nannying on a part time basis.
