About Me
My name is Anne, I am an experienced outstanding childminder of 22 years ,during this time I have cared for more than 80 children of all different ages and with their own individual needs, I’ve nurtured and supported many families where all the children have attended and have formed valuable partnerships with the parents. I believe that each child deserves to be cared for, loved and nurtured in a happy and safe environment. I provide opportunities for learning through play and a range of activities. I plan for the children's development using the EYFS framework. I have achieved the grade outstanding in my last four inspections, January 2020, being the most recent. I respect you as parents and the unique and special relationship you have with your child. Our relationship is very much a partnership built on the principles of respect and trust, with your child's happiness and development both our priorities.
My Experience
I have worked with children with all different needs. I spent three years before having my first child, doing primary teacher training. I have cared for babies from three months up and I care currently for primary aged children too. I am a mother of 4, which is so valuable in empathising with parents and the difficulties of raising children whilst balancing work commitments and running a home. I have a small dog ( a cocker spaniel ) who is very friendly and adored by all the children, obviously she is away from the children when I’m working. In the past I have been a member of the Harrow childminding network and also a mentor to new childminders,
I am an Early Years SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) I have attended training on all the areas of child development and the EYFS. I attend alot of training courses on various aspects of care and supporting communication skills.
I have also received training from pediatricians, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and physiotherapists on the 2 year check., I became a mental health first aider in April 2022.
I also became a Mentor for the Department of Education to support childminders in 2023/2024 with all aspects of learning and recovery after the impact of Covid. I completed the EYDP (Early years Development Program) which focuses on Personal, Social and Emotional Education, Communication and Language and Early Maths in April 2024.
