About Me

I am a qualified Forest School lead and for the past 4 years have rented my own small private woodland locally, where I am able to safely take the children regularly for our forest school sessions. We love to have camp fires for cooking lunch and snacks, climb trees, learn to use tools safely, splash in puddles and get very muddy! Learning is child-led and we work closely with the seasons and nature. We forage for fruit and berries, learn about looking after our planet with an emphasis on living sustainably.
Children learn independence in health and self-care from a young age and the children a wide range of life skills when they attend my setting. We attend the forest at least 1-2 times per week and under normal circumstances we spend at least half of our time over all outdoors.
I have two outgoing and gentle, caring daughters (8 and 12 years) and my husband who occasionally works from home in our office. We have 2 friendly cats and some free-ranging happy chickens! We enjoy spending a great deal of time outside in our wildlife garden playing, seeing to the vegetable plots and enjoying the fresh air! We have a spacious house with a large playroom and plenty of good quality toys for all ages and abilities.
We have a very large allotment plot close to home where we visit at least twice per week. The children follow through the whole growing process from seeds to harvest, then creating soups and meals with our large quantity of produce. Some is taken home, some is enjoyed for meals and snacks, the rest is stored to eat for the winter months.

Jo was friendly and welcoming to all our family from day 1 and every time we require her services.
We initially only required occasional help for our young children but Jo was as professional as if we were there every day.
Jo' house is lovely with plenty of toys and activities to keep the children active, my 3 year old always enjoys going.
It is interesting to read the review of what the children did during the day in the book Jo provided and the picture messages to me of our children playing and doing activities & pre-agreed outings were a lovely addition.
Thank you for your continued help.
