My Summary
About Me
I strongly believe in extended families and how important it is to have that caring support around you, that is one of the things you will get from me when I am helping you care for your children.
Our family is very close, my daughter Donna is a registered childminder and lives next door to me, Amy my other daughter is also a registered childminder, she lives just around the corner from us. We spend a lot of time together so the children we are looking after get to have time within larger groups as well as the one to one time they need. We also meet up with several other registered childminders and arrange some amazing fun events.
A lot of my time will be spent away from the house, enjoying our great outdoors as well as going to many children friendly places/parks/play areas and dog walking. Children who are outside playing rarely come home clean, so outdoor play clothes and appropriate coveralls are a must. Children learn through play and we work hard to ensure every child is given the opportunity to have fun whilst being educated and helped get a great start before formal education begins.
I love children, they all have their own individual personalities and attribute’s that should be promoted and encouraged.
My Experience
I have over 30 years’ experience of working with children, a part of this time was working with teenagers with emotional and behavioural issues, this has given me a great understanding of the importance of the early years in a child’s development including the need for encouragement, opportunity and praise.
My training is extensive and covers, Improving childrens learning through play, Equality and inclusion in early years settings, Promoting positive behaviour, Preventing bullying, Child development, ADHD, Supporting early years language development, A magical place to learn and my training is ongoing.
