About Me

Hi, I'm Amanda and I'm an Ofsted registered childminder based in Biggin Hill, Kent. I live at home with my husband and our 3 children aged 4-11 years.

I strive to provide a home from home environment here for any child attending my setting. Providing a caring, friendly and nurturing environment. Your child’s safety and wellbeing are of the highest importance to me. If a child feels safe and cared for then I believe they are in a good position to learn.

I have spent lots of time in my home making it feel warm, inviting and child friendly. I have a large open plan living space with plenty of space for children to play. A large dining table, perfect for those messy play activities that you don’t want to do at home, but we love to do here. Lots of toys and resources to suit all ages. As well as this I have a large flat garden (a rarity in Biggin Hill). There are clearly defined spaces for use all year round and for all ages. With a large climbing frame that the big kids love and the little ones will use to help them develop physically. A large lawn for plenty of fun activities and lots of water play in the summer. A large patio that can be sectioned off to provide a safe space for younger children. Our next project is to cover this patio so we have a safe, dry outdoor space to use no matter the weather. I can provide lots of outdoor fun, with ride-on's, tepee, tunnels and many more. We also have a large summer house in the garden that is a lovely play room for the children. Lots of role pay and small world opportunities here with kitchens, train sets, dress up and much more.

I am conveniently located within a 10 minute walk to Oaklands Primary School, where my children attend. So, school runs are a simple short walk with the opportunity for daily walks no matter the weather. No need for rushing around in the car, this is a nice chance for the children and I to play I spy and spot all the interesting things along the way. We live directly opposite the field, which opens up all sorts of fantastic learning opportunities. The local park and woods are also only a few minutes walk away.

We like to get out regularly, whether that be toddlers groups, parks, soft plays, farms and so many more. We even have an annual membership to Kew Gardens. These outings are wonderful opportunities for the children to learn about the world around them and we have lots of fun along the way!
