About Me
Hi, I'm Andrea, an ofsted registered child minder with limited spaces available immediately.
I have nearly 30 years of experience working with children and babies in a variety of settings and am also a registered Beaver Scout Leader too.
I am offering a fun and nurturing, homely environment for children to learn, play and develop. We are out every day enjoying the experiences of both our local and wider environment but can equally enjoy time at home.
I live in a 2 bedroom flat with adjacent outside play area, in the Maylands area of Hemel Hempstead. Living with me are my 2 daughters of 10 and 14.
I will be offering school/nursery pick ups from Hammond Academy, with the possibility of other local schools too. Please contact me for further information.
My Experience
I have nearly 30 years of experience in various childcare settings, mostly nanny positions but to include day nurseries, pre schools and infant schools. I have worked with all ages of children including twin babies and have now been running a successful childminding, home setting for 7 years.
I am also a registered Beaver Scout Leader for our local troop.
My Qualifications
CCE, NNEB trained and qualified, Cache Home based Child Carer Qualification, Paediatric First Aid trained, Food Hygiene and Safeguarding qualified.

Finding a trustworthy person to look after my son was not an easy job, I have met with few childminders before we found Andrea. She was very attentive, warm and professional, and my son instantly warmed up to her. I had no reservations when my second son also started attending when he turned 1.
Both boys were very happy in Andrea’s care, they were always out and about on activities, visiting the zoo, the library, toddlers groups and various activities organised by Andrea.
Andrea prepared home cooked nutritional and balanced meals for the boys who thoroughly enjoyed her cooking. We needed to relocate but the boys still talk fondly about Andrea to this day and ask to go visit.
Can’t recommend Andrea highly enough. The best childminder my children ever had.

My daughter has been going to Andrea for 2 years now. Everyday she comes home and is so excited to tell me about her day as she has had so much fun. Andrea is always out and about doing activities. If you want a childminder who truly cares and loves what she does, then Andrea is for you. She is passionate and always wants the best for the children she looks after.

My daughter was 18months when she started and she is still there now!! Andrea provides a home away from home. My daughter sees Andrea and her daughters as a second family. The way she cares for each child she looks after is outstanding. She is so proactive and always has a busy day planned to keep them all entertained. Very rarely do they ever stay at home. She cooks nutritious meals which they all love. Andrea is trustworthy, professional and interacts amazingly with all the children. It is really great to see how happy my little girl is to the point she doesn't want to leave. I 100% recommend Andrea to anyone looking for childcare.

Andrea looked after my daughter for 4 years, with school pick ups, holidays as needed and extra babysitting. She is kind and caring, always looking to do new and interesting things with the kids in her setting, flexible and understanding with parents and an excellent cook. My daughter has always seen her and her kids as a family away from home and I would recommend her to parents looking for care with kids of any age.

Andrea was looking after my son for 4 years and I cannot speak highly enough of her. She is amazing with kids and I have been very lucky to have her looking after my son. Andrea is professional, has high standards and provides thorough communication home. My son loved going there and will miss her dearly. She does plenty of arts and crafts with the children and happily takes the children out to local parks, zoo, play areas etc. We have now relocated and will be very difficult to find an equal replacement.

Andrea is a wonderful childminder, who creates a wonderfully fun and safe environment for the children in her care. We felt her setting created a homely feeling which made us and our family so welcome. The creative ideas and activities keep the children active and engaged. Our daughter thrived during her time with Andrea and we highly reccomend sunbeams childcare.

It was entirely our privilege to have Andrea look after our 2 boys. She was warm, loving, super organised & created a brilliantly stimulating & educational environment for learning through play. She was brilliant at communicating with us on progress & daily updates and her meals were well balanced & nourishing, my boys loved her food more than mine! Only the issue with school drop off meant we had to leave as my youngest started at a different school but wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone. You & your child will be super lucky to have her as your childminder.

Andrea is an outstanding childminder. She looks after my 3 1/2 yr old regularly, and he’s always happy to go to her for the day. She arranges fun, developmental activities, provides a caring environment, and gives comprehensive feedback on what my child’s done in the day. She’s always on top of the admin, and is flexible when she can be. We’re lucky to have found her - and I’d highly recommend her to other parents.
