My Summary
About Me
I am married and live in Fulwell in Sunderland in the north east.. I have 2 grown up children. I have been a childminder for over 25 years and also have several childcare qualifications.
I do lots of different activities with the children in my care and take full advantage of local parks, museums and beaches.
I have been graded outstanding 3 times by Ofsted. My last inspection was in March 2023 and my report is available to read on the Ofsted website.
I care for children all year round. The children vary in ages so my day includes a school/ nursery run. I collect from St. Benets and Redby schools.
I am part of an active childminders group and meet up with other childminders which gives children lots of opportunity to mix with others, particularly during school holidays.
Parents of both my present and past childminded children placements are happy to give references if required.
My Experience
I have worked with children since 1979 when I began my nursery nurse training. After qualifying I have done a variety of jobs but all have been within the childcare profession including nannying, classroom assistant and family centre worker . I am also a qualified social worker and worked for a national children's charity for 12 years.
I have a vast amount of experience including working with children with additional needs.
My Qualifications
I have worked within the childcare profession for over 40 years and during that time have gained qualifications alongside practical experience.I am a qualified nursery nurse and social worker. I have an Advanced Diploma in childcare, a Certificate in Childminding Practice and a Foundation degree in Childcare and Education. In 2012 I graduated from Sunderland University with a BA(Hons) in Education and curriculum studies.
My Availability
I do have some childminding placement spaces due to children moving to new schools.
I am available for evening babysitting immediately. I have my own car so distance is not an issue .

My Fees
- Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
I charge by the hour for part time placements. A discount is available for full time placements.

- I provide drop offs and pick ups at St Benet's Roman Catholic Voluntary Aided Primary School

Carol is an excellent childminder - never had any worries leaving our boy in her care. He started when he was around 11 months old. She does so much with the children to broaden their horizons and give them new experiences. There is always a trip or activity planned. Our son has really benefitted from the social opportunities going to Carol's provides, especially mixing with children of different ages. Communication is excellent and we enjoy reading his diary and file.

I could not be happier with the care carol provides for our daughter. I see Carols house as a 'home away from home' My daughter settled in so well with carol Since attending. I feel happy going to work knowing she is well looked after, and in very safe hands I feel I can rely on Carol completely. Seeing my daughters progress and how well her social skills are developing while being with carol are just amazing, I would highly recommend Carol for your childcare needs.
