About Me
£14 per hour + mileage. My partner and I have a happy, confident 9-year-old with special needs and a communicative and inquisitive 6-year old.
My Requirements
£14 per hour + mileage.
We are looking for a carer for our children to work on a regular, part-time basis.
Our daughter is a very sociable, confident, happy 9 year-old with additional needs, she uses Signalong sign language and we can provide some training in this. Our 6 year-old son is very busy being a communicative, inquisitive child.
We’re looking for a carer who can look after our children, initially whilst we are in the house or very nearby. We both work from home. No experience in working with people with additional needs is necessary as we can provide training. This is a great opportunity who wants to gain experience working with a child with disabilities.
We generally need someone weekdays after school 3pm-7pm and we are flexible about which days of the week and how many so can fit in with your current schedule. There's also the potential for more hours over the school holidays.
We pay £14 per hour (and mileage of 45p per mile for those who live over 5 miles away) on an employed basis (with a training, insurance, sick leave and annual leave package).
Full job description available upon request.
We are a smoke free home.
One of our previous carers has been kind enough to write us a little review:
"I have been working for the family for the last 2 years, caring primarily for their daughter with special needs, but also for their second, non-special needs son. Unfortunately, due to a need for full time work, I was unable to stay working for them, but I have enjoyed my time with them tremendously.
A is a loving, energetic and curious child, she has learned a large amount of sign-a-long sign language in the past few years, which the family provide training for (themselves and with sign-a-long UK), A thoroughly enjoys interaction with her carers, and is enthusiastic to take part in activities and learn new things. M is wonderfully confident little one, who will have you smiling every day, I feel the family provide a good balance for the carer, ensuring that they have a mixture of both children, but also 1-to-1 time with each child to ensure individual relationships are formed.
E and I are warm, respectful parents, who have made me feel like an important part of their lives. They provided me with plenty of support and guidance at the start, particularly with A’s epilepsy, and then gave me room to work more independently as both mine, and their confidence grew. I feel that the family have given me the support, training and trust, to create a loving bond with both children, and I would highly recommended them as employers."
