My Summary
About Me
My name is Rachel and I am an Ofsted registered childminder. I live in Allesley Park with my husband and family. My property is situated very close to the park, shops, schools, library and many other local amenities.
During the day we use the whole of the ground floor but I do have a purposed built playroom for the children to play in. The children have access to a whole range of toys such as books, jigsaws, dressing-up clothes, role play toys, small world toys, arts and craft activities, construction blocks, train sets, cars, dolls and pushchairs to name but a few!
The playroom leads onto my garden which the children use on a free flow basis. We have replaced the grass area with astro turf to enable the children to use the garden all year round! The children have access to a wide range of outdoor equipment which includes a wooden playhouse, slides, seesaws, ride on toys and bikes, sand and water play, painting and drawing facilities and other outdoor games. We also grow plants and vegetables from time to time.
The children I care for see my setting as a real home from home where they are loved, nurtured, cared for and educated. I work closely with parents, carers and other agencies on a daily basis. Parents are updated daily on their child’s development. The children each have a photo album. This is a lovely memento of the time that we have shared together and tells a story of how the child has developed during their time at my setting.
My Experience
I have been a childminder since 1997, in that time I have provided a home from home for all of the children I have cared for. I care for children from varying age groups and have gained a mass of experience and having four daughters of my own has provided me with a solid platform to develop my approach to child care.

Rachel has been so accommodating for Meadow. She managed to get meadow in quite quickly with limited space at her setting as I started a new job mid term. My hours and days changed and she was so supportive during this cross over period.
Meadow loves going to Rachel and Mark and they adapt to her needs and requirements. She’s a little monkey when it comes to nap times but they work around it.
They do lots of activities and learning new things every day. Meadow comes home singing and saying new things which she has learnt while being with Rachel. She gets on well with the other children and loves to see them when we drop her off in the morning.
I was reluctant sending meadow to a child minder as I’ve never done so before with my two older children going to their grandparents instead but Rachel definitely put my mind at ease.
Highly recommend Rachel and Mark to anyone. Such a caring and loving setting and a couple I trust x
I can't thank Rachel and her Husband Mark enough for looking after my Daughter from 9 Months old. They go above and beyond with the love, care and support towards the children they look after.
Its very much a home from home setting, very personal and family like. It is also beautiful, clean and full of great resources.
Whatever your child's routine and needs, they will ensure they keep to this as much as they can to coincide with your home regimes already in place- with four lovely daughters of their own they really do have a great life of experience.
Rachel completes a journal throughout the time spent there and this is most amazing thing to be given, it really highlights the activities they do with the children and its not just play time, they are really helping the children to learn and develop new skills all the time.
I had no concerns with Mia's development here but it was time to go to a nursery setting in preparation for school and to be with children her own age on a bigger scale as she got older. This saddened me a lot and will always be grateful we found Rachel and Mark to look after her for the first few years of Mia's life.
I was really nervous about leaving my son with anyone, but Rachel has been fantastic. My son settled in really quickly, clearly really enjoys being there, and naps well there too.
Rachel has a great playroom and garden for the children to play in. All in all would highly recommend, and am very sad to be leaving due to moving out the area.
Our little girl went to Rachel's from round 18 months and she only stopped because we move out of Coventry.
During her time with Rachel she learned so much and her development was really well supported. She was so happy and made lots of friends. The children do so many activities and it includes seasonal and significant events work. The garden is great and the children are outside almost everyday, weather permitting! They also visit the local park regularly too.
I would definitely recommend Rachel from little ones to school children as there are lots of activities for all ages.
