My Summary
About Me
I am very passionate about my job. I love being able to make an impact on tiny people’s lives, teaching them important areas of learning all through play. I have been a foster parent for 3.5 years although recently moved back to childminding full time.
I believe it’s important for children to get out and explore the outdoors, I help to do this by providing lots of outdoor learning activities and trips, I grow flowers and vegetables with the children. I am a national trust member and enjoy exploring with the children.
I work closely with other childminder in the area meeting up for the children to socialise and build on relationships, where we all go on daily walks to the park, forest, beach, Bircham windmill and local farms.

My little boy joined starter sessions late 2019 aged 10 months and has thrived and developed leaps and bounds ever since.
Upon first visit all the children within the setting appeared happy and content they all were confident in sharing what they was going and showed they felt safe
and happy with both Shay and Petina. This is part of what sold us to the setting. Shay and Petina have the same child lead / forest schools approach we have at home. Both Petina and Shay have a lovely bond with my son and I know all his needs are more than met. They have supported his learning and responded to his development ques the efforts they have put into his general learning, speech and language have enabled him to talk clearly with confidence, he's able to confidently count to ten and sometimes past 10 and recognise shapes at aged 2. He's got a wonderful understanding of the world around him and shows an interest in it. Activities are always engaging and children centred with fun and learning in mind.
The trips out are always enjoyed by the children and the bond/ friendship all the children have for one another is lovely to see at pick ups and drop offs.
Rugrats is a lovely homely personal approach to childcare and have supported and help to shape my son into a polite and caring little boy.
Not to mention Shay and Petina are full of knowledgeable information on child development to help support the children at home with sleep, potty training and behaviours. They're also supportive to the parents and are always there as fantastic emotional support. Two of the kindest ladies I've ever met.
