My Summary
About Me
I am a NVQ level 3 qualified, CRB checked, Ofsted registered childminder, graded GOOD
with full public liability insurance, and all other relevant insurances.
Myself and all members of my household are CRB checked.
I am based in central Stevenage, close to Six Hills Way, and a stones' throw away from Fairlands Valley park,
I offer a home from home loving environment for children and babies, with a safe enclosed garden, with various outdoor toys including, a sand table, water table, sit 'n' ride toys, a rocker, slides (toddler and larger sized) pushchairs etc.
I use the kitchen for messy play, painting / drawing, play dough etc, and my lounge for a variety of toys/games/books/puzzles/role play/construction music time etc.
We often walk to Fairland's Lakes to feed the ducks and play in the park, and on the swings/ slides etc. and weather permitting we use the splash park and enjoy a picnic.
Pre pandemic we attended various toddler groups, indoor soft play and Musical/Rhyme activity sessions and the library for their rhyme time session and/or choosing books, which enables the children to socialise with other children, and make new friends, and play with different toys and equipment. These activities will be resumed when they become available again and as soon as its safe to do so.
Some days are busier than others, however I am mindful that babies and toddlers need to rest/sleep and recharge their batteries! and I plan the day accordingly, ensuring activities are age/development appropriate.
Other activities would include a visit to a local farm to see where fruit and vegetables grow and see animals in their natural environment, have a play in the outside play area and enjoy walking in the countryside, we also visit/feed/pet animals at other local venues.
During the holidays, where appropriate, we occasionally travel further afield on planned trips, depending on the ages and interests of the children.
I work to the revised Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to ensure babies and young children reach their full potential through play.
I endeavour to support children with their early years education, and also later with homework.
I give the children a healthy balanced diet, in line with the Voluntary Food and Drink Guidelines for Early Years Settings.
I encourage them to try/choose/eat a variety of fruit and veg. Water is always freely available.
At present I have limited availability, please message for further details.
My Experience
I have over 35yrs experience in childcare, first with my own 3 children, who are all adults now and living independent lives, and as a S.B.C playscheme playleader, also in a nursery/preschool setting.
I have worked as a Registered Childminder for over 25 yrs (first registered with Social Services, now Ofsted.) So have experience and knowledge of young children in different settings.
I keep up to date with the latest legislation and knowledge, by attending regular training opportunities, in my own time at evenings and weekends.
I have cared for many babies/children over the years as a childminder, from as young as 6 weeks old, and have helped them grow from baby to confident child and then on to young adults, some of whom I am still in contact with, and it gives me great pleasure and pride to know I was part of their development.

Our daughter loved attending Sally's. The care and support Sally has given to our daughter has been excellent and invaluable in her learning and development. Sally is flexible to our needs, provides varied activities for the children and promotes health eating.
We would be lost without Sally and cannot praise her enough.
