About Me
Hello, my name is Virginia and I'm a experienced Ofsted registered childminder, based in Elmer's End, Beckenham.
I live with my husband Al, two lovely daughters, Charlotte age 14 and Isabella age 12, along with two cute guinea pig's named Badger and Tufty, a small and friendly, French Bulldog named Nora, a kitten named Ember and a huge tank full of fish. As you can probably imagine, it's the next best thing, to a petting zoo around here. My friends laugh and call me 'Dr Doolittle'. Besides a love of animals, it's my love of nurturing children and bringing out the best in each unique child that keeps me going, and I'm great with kids! Your child's safety and wellbeing are paramount to my business, as is working in partnership with parents to provide the best possible all round care. Please feel free to ask for any reviews from my families, past and current.
I offer a before and after school childminding service - Monday to Thursday, for Balgowan Primary school pupils. The walk to and from my home from school is approximately 8 minutes on foot. I have an open plan kitchen, and the dining and living room area's are used as a base for my setting as well as a large child-friendly garden with Summerhouse. Children have the opportunity to relax, watch tv, play the piano, read books, colour in, play a variety of board games and puzzles, create marble runs, get creative with a huge range of lego, or play in the garden on a range of safe and fun garden equipment.
By prior arrangement I can cover school holidays - where the extra time, allows opportunities to explore the outdoors, make trips to further afield parks, nature reserves, museums and more.
I may also be able to support you with any adhoc childminding requests.
I am Paediatric First Aid qualified and certified in Safeguarding and Child Protection. I hold a full, clean driving licence. I accept tax-free and a variety of other childcare vouchers for my service. Please do not hesitate to contact me if my setting sounds of interest or you would like some further information.
My Experience
I have worked with children, nannying and babysitting throughout my life from an early age. In October 2016 I was awarded a Good Ofsted rating, with many outstanding teaching elements. As of October 2022 I continue providing a good standard of childminding, being given a 'Met status' providing wrap around care for both school age and early years children.

As of the new school year commencing September 2024, I may have spaces available due to year 6 pupils moving on.
