About Me

Welcome to Little Diamonds Childcare..
My name is Anjani Mistry I live in Coventry, Finham area, close to FINHAM primary School with my two children aged 6 and 8years old and my lovely husband Jim married for 20 years. Jim is from Kenya and I am from Mauritius and we both speak several languages like French, Gujarati, Hindi ,Punjabi. I am from a mixed background - my mother is Mauritius and my father is from India . I encourage my children to speak French as well as to explore other languages and cultures. After having my second child I chose not to return back to work and made the decision to become a childminder.

My Qualifications

I have been OFSTED registered since July 2020 and our trainings and DBS are up to date.
I am always seeking to develop my skills and further my knowledge. Some of the courses I have completed can be found on the 'Training' section.
I am a member of PACEY : Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years . I am insured with RSA.
I am a member of Coventry Early years Child minding Network which is a nationally recognized quality assurance scheme. It means I am monitored regularly by my network coordinator to ensure that I am consistently providing high quality child minding services, in line with PACEY's Children Come First Quality Standards (see 'What is a Network Child minder?' heading for further details.

Accreditation

I am accredited and able to obtain government funding for early years education sessions for 2, 3 and 4 year old. All 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to free early years education of 570 hours taken over a minimum of 38 weeks (term time only) or maximum of 47 weeks (over the whole year). From 1st September 2017, eligible children will be entitled to a further 15 hours in addition to the free early years education funding (30 hours childcare).

Free entitlement is for early education only and does not include the cost of food or outings.

My Experience

The youngest child I have minded was two weeks old when I first looked after her. I have also cared for a premature baby. I am very happy and confident looking after young babies. I also care for a number of toddlers and preschoolers.

Aims & Objectives

I aim to provide a wide range of opportunities in the form of interactive, fun and challenging activities to enable children of all backgrounds and abilities to develop and learn through play in a caring, supportive and happy environment.

I am guided in my routines and policies by the Early Years Foundation Stage framework and am registered and inspected by OFSTED.

I recognize the importance of parental involvement in a child’s early years and look forward to working together as a team to meet your child(ren)’s full potential.

My objectives for the children include the following key points:

To develop the social skills necessary to help build friendships
To learn to work in harmony alongside their peers
To develop their social skills, mental and physical skills and knowledge of the world around them to help prepare for the transition to school and the life challenges ahead
Each child will be treated as an individual and their needs addressed from a holistic perspective
I aim to offer a balanced curriculum, in a home environment of stimulating and constructive play and activities to develop creativity and imagination.
I have a strong community spirit and endeavor to work in association with my local schools; pre-school settings and children's centers.
I feel learning is a continuous journey through which children build on all the things they experience, as well as coming across new and interesting challenges.

Every child's learning journey takes a personal path based on their own individual interests and experiences. I strive to personalise the support a child receives to meet their individual needs and extend their talents.

Looking after and caring for children is my passion and I feel privileged that I am able to do this as a career. Childminding is not simply a job for me but something which I thoroughly enjoy and am rewarded for every day when I see the children in my care laughing, learning, and developing.
