My Experience
My primary skills and experience are as a child carer, I have many years’ experience working with children and babies. I like to develop a child’s imagination through planning and organizing stimulating activities. I know how to guide children to make them feel good about themselves.
In the past, 27 years I have worked in a variety of roles with children, all of them in London. This has taught me to cope with unexpected situations and to communicate clearly with parents, carers and children, when appropriate.
I can work with a variety of equipment to ensure that children are cared for and comfortable. All these roles require an understanding of health and safety, particularly
Food hygiene. I am good at basic maths for measuring feeds and cleaning materials. I have the ability to work alone without supervision if required, or as part of family team.
Finally, I have good diplomacy and people skills which are required when meeting other parents and in areas used by the public.
My Qualifications
2010 EDEXCEL LEVEL3 NVQ IN CHILDREN CARE, LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT.
2009 Attended Safeguarding Children training and Observation, Assessment and Planning.
2003 College of North West, London School of Health & Community Studies: Introducing Childminding Practice.
1989 A/ Levels – Drama, Sinhalese Language, Buddhism.
1986 O/Levels – Buddhism, Drama, Sinhalese Language, Commerce, Social Studies, Mathematics, English Language, and Science.
I own a full UK Driving Licence.
I am a UK Citizen Entitled to work in the UK.
My Availability
Child minding: From 8AM till 6PM
Also evening babysitting.
As a weekend nanny.

Maya is a brilliant childminder, I couldn't recommend her highly enough!
Both my son and my daughter went to her for 3 days a week from the ages of roughly 11months - 2.5 years. I always felt confident in her abilities and was certain that they'd be well looked after, even in the early days going back to work for the first time as a new mum. She is equally great with babies and toddlers, providing a range of activities to suit the different ages.
Maya is such a lovely person, always so happy and smiley that both kids warmed to her instantly and she soon felt like part of the family. It feels like she genuinely looks after the children as if they were her own... giving lots of cuddles and love when they need it, but also not being afraid to tell them if they aren't behaving appropriately!
Maya is reliable, trustworthy, helpful and collaborative and nothing is too much trouble for her. Also she is lots of fun... my kids loved going to 'play' at her house and she simply took the headache out of childcare for our family :)

Our son spent a wonderful year and a half with Maya at her lovely warm, bright and clean home in Kensal. As a Freelancer, Maya would go out of her way to help me with pick ups and drop off's as well as being as flexible as she could to change days and times. Maya is such a happy and lovely woman. She is always smiling and laughing, nothing is ever a problem. She is an incredibly passionate childminder thinking of the children at all times. Our son was more than happy to spend his days with Maya enjoying the toys, games, outdoors, food and company. A wonderful memory we have of Maya was her bringing all the children to Queens park and dancing with them all to celebrate his birthday.
Maya is an incredible childminder and I have no hesitation in recommending her. I couldn't be happier with the care she provided, so much so that our next one will be starting soon!

You were my lifesaver when I moved to London and had to find a childminder at short notice. Like most parents I was concerned about leaving my very young daughter with anyone other than family. But Ava soon grew to love you and now 5 years later and several years since starting school you still feel like family to us! So lucky to have found you.
