About Me
I live in FETTERANGUS and am married to Nick, who works offshore. We have 3 grown up children who have all left home and are following professional careers in Primary Teaching, Mechanical Engineering & Draughtsmanship.
I am registered with the Scotland Care Inspectorate and have an Enhanced PVG Disclosure.
I am a friendly, family centered, fun loving and caring person,who loves working with children. I enjoy giving children the opportunity to learn and develop through real life, day to day experiences. I will offer outdoors experiences daily and i will enforce the Child Led Approach, wherever possible & within the remits of my Registration.
I am fully aware of the 'pressures' of trying to juggle work, family & home life. In partnership with Parents/Carers, I aim to promote a seamless transition to allow you to go to work, happy in the knowledge that your child will be well looked after in a fun filled home from home environment.
Alongside Parent/Carers, I will encourage your child to learn, develop and flourish into well-balanced confident individuals whilst respecting cultures, religions and traditions.
We live in a spacious family home which has a dedicated playroom and a large enclosed garden which allows children to play in a safe, risk assessed environment.
My Experience
Prior to registering as a Childminder i trained and worked as a nurse for 30+ years, initially in adult nursing, Midwifery, for a short period of time, and then School Nursing. This involved working with children and young people of all ages, cultures,ethnicity and religions and offering support for many different issues. I worked and supported children living with adversities such as ADHD, Allergies, Asthma, Autism, Bereavement, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Mental Health issues (personally or within their family), Speech and Language immaturity, Sleep, Stress etc. My knowledge and skills empowered me to work closely, and in partnership, with children, young people, parents and carers to promote positive skills and strategies to ensure the SHANARRI Wellbeing Indicators and GIRFEC Principles were achieved. Having this deeper understanding of the benefits and strengths of positive early years experiences allows me to encourage and support children and young people to develop and flourish into achieving, confident, respected & successful citizens.

I have completed the SCMA Induction Training which included Children's Rights, Child Protection, Meeting the Needs of Children, Child Led Planning & Routines, Positive Behaviour Management & the Professional Approach
