Jo has cared for our son four days a week since October 2021, since he was 8 months old. Since our daughter arrived in June last year, she has also helped care for both children at times during my maternity leave and on a full time basis since I returned to work.
Jo is a fantastic nanny and has been a rock to our family. She is unfailingly reliable, totally committed to the children, kind and dependable. She is always on time and flexible to my demanding working hours. She is very efficient and tidy, and always plans fun activities and play dates for the children.
Jo thinks of fun outdoor and indoor activities for the children to do. She loves to take them out and about, and my son has developed a real love of reading and the library thanks to their regular trips to our local library. She is a very friendly and sociable nanny who likes arranging play dates with other nannies, which has really encouraged our son to become more confident and sociable.
Our children (and in particular, our son) completely adore Jo, and she has become like a second Mum to him. This is down to her warmth and the amazing relationship she has built with him (and us) over the years. We honestly consider her part of the family! Jo is a very kind and caring person, and is endlessly patient with our son (who has been through the terrible twos, and is now a full blown 'threenager'!). She is also fantastic with our nine month old daughter and clearly loves spending time with young children.
In my view, any family would be incredibly lucky to have Jo as their nanny. She is a superstar and also a good friend and support as a new mum juggling work and baby life!
Don't know where to begin re how brilliant Jo is.
Jo has been with us since I returned to work after maternity leave, our twin daughters were 14 months old when she started. I was anxious returning to work but Jo made the transition super easy. The girls absolutely love her.
She fills their days with activities, including park visits, toddler classes, playgrounds and play dates with fellow nannies in the area. If the weather isn't good, she will bring the girls to the local library or do arts and crafts in the house.
Jo is an amazing cook and often does batch cooking. She keeps our house super tidy, putting away all the toys in the evening and always leaves the kitchen spotless.
She is extremely patient, kind, and really cares about the girls. She is very professional and reliable, arriving on time every single morning and has never once let us down.
Jo has also proven to be very flexible, one of our daughters was admitted to hospital for two weeks and Jo helped out working her day off and late evenings.
One of our daughters has a serious medical condition that requires a lot of attention and medication in addition to high hygiene standards. Jo took time to understand her condition and has mastered all her medications. We have had absolutely no concerns re the management of our daughters condition under Jo. This has been a massive relief.
The list is endless re Jo's skills, attributes and abilities. She really is amazing.
Our circumstances have changed and we are moving back home to Ireland. We are absolutely gutted to have to leave Jo . She has been such a positive influence on our lives and we are going to miss her so much.
Jo has cared for our daughter since she was 10 months old. From the first suggestions she had to settle us into the new routine back then (as part of a nanny share) to the way she looks after both our children now (aged 3 and 9 months) she has had a huge positive impact on family life over the last two years.
She clearly cares so much about the children she is responsible for, encouraging their development, talking to them constantly and coming up with suggestions for activities and outings to enrich their lives. She makes sure they get out and about every day and is always interacting with them rather than defaulting to options like TV for entertainment. Jo has a really in-depth understanding of their behaviour and needs at different stages and supports our own ethos when it comes to raising empathetic and personable children.
Jo is very practical, not fazed at all by the idea of cooking tea whilst caring for two hungry children, and she stays calm in the face of the usual toddler challenges. I've never once felt any anxieties about leaving the children with her - from day one her calm confidence with them was hugely reassuring.
Incredibly punctual, she has never been a reason for either me or my husband to be late for work and she always leaves the house and kitchen tider than I manage to at the end of a day. Jo has also stuck with us throughout what has been a very difficult year, with far more changes to hours and working patterns than would normally be expected.
We are incredibly sad to be losing Jo as we move house next month, she has done so much to develop our daughter in particular and she will be sorely missed by all of us.
Towards the end of lockdown, we needed some part time childcare for our son (20 months old) and luckily we found Jo; she was a lifesaver! Jo worked mornings (0830-1300) every day of the week and occasionally afternoons too on an ad hoc basis.
Our son loved his time with Jo. They would spend their mornings out in the parks and in our garden playing, learning and having a huge amount of fun. She was always on time (typically 5-10mins early) and immensely dependable. She was a calming presence in our house and nothing was too much trouble for her. She was quick to flex to our needs as work, lockdown and our needs changed - we were very grateful. She was also brilliant with hygiene and safety, which was important in the context.
We have moved out of London to Oxfordshire so had to part ways with Jo but we would have taken her if we could! She is a superb experienced nanny who we would quickly recommend to anyone.
We employed Joann as our Nanny (as part of a Nanny share) for 14 months in 2018/19, having found her details on this site. She was the most kind, reliable, experienced and wonderful nanny, and our daughter absolutely loved her. We only ended the arrangement as we were expecting a second child and decided to leave London to be closer to family. Otherwise, we would have kept employing Joann until our daughter started school! Joann has an amazing knowledge of activities and playgroups in the local area, and took our daughters to a fantastic array of activities every morning and afternoon, where they got to meet and socialise with lots of other children. Joanne is patient and kind, with a wealth of experience. Our daughter adores her.
I would not hesitate to recommend Joann as a nanny.
